Chapter 4 - Moonlight Oath – Part IV: Eternal Dusk

Two months had passed since the night of crimson chains.

The clans were in ruins, their leaders scattered or dead. Only fragments remained: Selene Vaughn, last heir of the Brujah; Adriana Veyron, sole survivor of the Ventrue; and Serena Moreau, the Dhampir who carried her father's forbidden legacy.

And of course, the memory of Irene Ashford—the retainer who gave her life to shield them all.

Selene & Serena – Banter in the Office

Selene lounged at her desk, sipping coffee as if she were not the reluctant ruler of a dying clan. "Serena, stay with me. The clans are nearly gone—you wouldn't leave me all alone, would you?"

Serena shot her a look sharp enough to cut steel. "You're the last Brujah prince. Try acting like one."

Selene only smirked. "Prince, queen, king… titles bore me. My Serena is far more important."

From the corner, Serena groaned audibly. "Keep talking like that and I'll tear your ears off."

At that exact moment, Serena Moreau walked in, arms crossed, voice calm."I heard that."

Selene nearly fell out of her chair, suddenly all smiles like a scolded puppy. "Serena! You're back! Done with work? Let's go home!"

Serena raised a brow. "And you call yourself a clan leader?"

Selene leaned closer, shameless as ever. "Leader, lover—it's all the same to me."

Adriana's Farewell

Meanwhile, Adriana Veyron stood at the window of a high-rise tower. The city lights reflected in her eyes, but her heart was far away—lost with Irene Ashford.

She turned to the others, her decision already made."I can't stay here. I can't pretend the world goes on as before. Irene's oath… our oath… still binds me. I'll travel, as we once dreamed. Until the moonlight grows weary, I'll keep walking for her."

She leapt from the sixty-fifth floor balcony, vanishing into the night.

Selene watched her disappear, quiet for once.Serena placed a hand on her shoulder. "Let her go. Some oaths aren't meant to be broken."

Closing Scene

The moon hung high, silver and eternal.

Selene sighed dramatically. "Serena, Adriana's gone. I'm lonely. Let me sleep in your room tonight?"

A sharp slap to the head answered her. "Over my dead body."

Serena turned to leave, but Selene only grinned wider, shameless as ever. "So… not tonight, then. But maybe tomorrow?"

Serena rolled her eyes. "Unbelievable."

The door slammed. Selene laughed quietly to herself, gazing out the window where the moonlight spilled across the floor.

The oath continued, even in jest. The night lingered, eternal as dusk.
