Regret came instantly.
The moment the woman felt the sudden weightlessness of her fall, she regretted everything. Terror seized her, and she screamed, unable to even recall Colin's words from before.
"Ahhhhhh!!!"
Her scream echoed as she plummeted through the air, falling faster and faster.
From above, Colin watched her descent, knowing full well she had completely panicked.
He stepped forward—and jumped.
In a heartbeat, he caught up to her midair, effortlessly closing the distance before grabbing her by one hand.
The woman clung to him for dear life, still screaming uncontrollably.
"Ahhhhhhhhh!!!"
Colin frowned. Her voice was getting on his nerves. With a sigh, he shot upward and carried her back to the rooftop.
He set her down carelessly. She tumbled across the ground, disheveled and shaking, before finally managing to stand on trembling legs.
After a few ragged breaths, she bowed her head and whispered a shaky "thank you," then turned to leave.
But after a few steps, she turned back. Reaching into her pocket, she handed the money she'd offered earlier to Colin.
"Here. Take it."
Colin didn't refuse. He figured he'd give it away to someone else later.
"You don't want to die anymore?" he asked.
"No," she said quietly, her voice strangely calm now.
"Oh? Then—goodbye." Colin waved lazily and vanished.
In the next instant, he appeared in a modest, poverty-stricken country. The land was poor, but the scenery wasn't half bad.
Wearing sunglasses, Colin strolled through the dusty streets at an unhurried pace. After all, he was here to relax—to enjoy the view.
A short distance away, he noticed a barefoot girl. She was covered in dirt, but her eyes sparkled with life. She and her father were trying to sell wild fruits they had picked from the forest.
No matter how loudly they called out, no one stopped to buy.
Colin walked closer. The man and his daughter looked up at him—his black hair, unfamiliar features, and expensive clothes marked him as someone from another world entirely.
Colin reached into his pocket and pulled out the bills the woman had given him, handing them to the man.
The father blinked in surprise, then stammered, "I'll go get your change."
Colin waved him off. "Keep it."
He picked up a handful of fruit and walked away, taking a bite as he went.
Sweet—pleasantly so. Not bad at all.
But as Colin wandered aimlessly, several pairs of eyes began to follow him—some belonging to ordinary thieves, others to the local police.
They'd seen how freely he spent his money. Greed flickered in their eyes.
They trailed him carefully, waiting for a quieter place before making their move.
After a while, Colin turned a corner and encountered a girl.
Her skin was a warm, dark brown; her short black hair framed a sharp, confident face. She wore tight-fitting pants that showed off a lithe, athletic build.
The girl smiled at him, then lowered her voice.
"Someone's following you."
Of course, Colin already knew. He was practically walking them like dogs at this point.
The girl grinned, then suddenly grabbed his hand.
"Come on—this way!"
Colin blinked, a little surprised.
Well… this might be interesting.
And so he ran along with her.
"Damn it! It's her again!!!"
A furious shout came from behind them. A police officer cursed, his face twisted in anger. That same girl had ruined their operations more than once—and this time, he swore, he'd make her pay.
He barked orders to his men, sending them to split up and chase both Colin and the girl.
Red rage burned in his eyes.
