Chapter 52 - NSDD: Chapter 52

"Crap!" Shin exclaimed, realizing he had no way to dodge the incoming bomb while in the air!

"Swish!" At that moment, a shuriken came spinning from behind Shin, whistling past his ear and embedding itself directly into the clay bomb, pinning it to the wall.

"Katsu!" the blonde-haired boy shouted.

"Boom!" A massive explosion erupted, blasting the wall into several large pieces!

"Looks like we have a troublesome guy in Konoha..." Kaoru and Hina appeared behind Shin.

"So it's Deidara..." Kaoru thought, calmly observing the blonde-haired boy in front of him.

The blonde-haired boy was none other than Deidara, a ninja from the Hidden Stone Village who would later become a rogue ninja and join Akatsuki!

"Kaoru, thank goodness you're here..."

Shin said, sighing in relief. If Kaoru hadn't used his shuriken to deflect Deidara's clay bomb, he and the child would have been seriously injured, if not killed.

"You should leave," Shin said, placing the child on the ground. The child bowed to Shin, his face still filled with fear, and ran away.

"It was nothing," Kaoru said, smiling. Although Shin was a member of Root, he had risked exposing his abilities to save the child, so his character wasn't all bad.

Deidara, on the other hand, had a truly terrible personality.

"That guy's wearing a forehead protector... He's a ninja from the Hidden Stone Village!" Hina said, looking at Deidara.

"He must be here for the Chūnin Exams," Shin said, scowling. "I didn't think the ninjas from the Hidden Stone Village were so cruel."

"Damn it, another troublesome guy?" Deidara said, looking at Kaoru with annoyance. He then pointed at Shin, his expression arrogant. "And you, brat, this is art! Any sacrifice is worth it for art!"

"What's he talking about?"

"Is he crazy?" Hina and Shin both looked confused.

Kaoru remained silent. Having read the original story, he knew that Deidara was self-centered and hysterical.

"Sharingan!" He activated his Sharingan to assess Deidara's abilities.

"Level LV9, Health 600, Chakra 400. He's two levels higher than Shin. This guy really is a genius from the Hidden Stone Village..." Kaoru thought.

Deidara, seeing Kaoru's crimson eyes, paused.

"What's with those weird eyes? This guy looks like he's looking down on me!"

Deidara thought angrily, unable to contain himself. "You bastards ruined my art! I'll make you pay!"

"Seriously, this kid's arrogant, acting so cocky in someone else's village!" Shin shouted, stepping forward. "I'm going to teach you a lesson today!"

He couldn't stand Deidara's reckless attitude and was infuriated by his taunts. He decided to test Deidara's strength.

"Hold on, Shin," Kaoru said, reaching out to stop him. "I'll handle this guy."

"Hold on, Shin," Kaoru said, reaching out to stop him. "I'll handle this guy."

Deidara was two levels higher than Shin. Shin would probably lose. He'd take care of this brat himself.

"Hmph, looking down on me? This red-eyed bastard is even younger than me," Deidara said, glaring at Kaoru.

"If that's how it is..." Deidara scoffed, subtly moving his left hand behind his back. A clay centipede crawled out of the mouth in his left palm and burrowed into the ground.

Then, "You'll experience true art!" After secretly preparing his attack, Deidara shouted and produced a clay bomb in his right hand. He threw the bomb at Kaoru.

"Cree, cree!" The clay bomb transformed into a round owl in mid-air. The owl looked cute, its large eyes staring fixedly at Kaoru.

"It's already locked onto me..." Kaoru frowned. He was standing next to Hina. If the clay owl bomb got close, it would be bad. He didn't want Hina to get caught in the blast.

"Swish!" Kaoru flicked his wrist, throwing another shuriken.

"Think it'll be that easy?" Deidara chuckled. The clay owl bomb swerved in the air, dodging Kaoru's shuriken.

"Hmm?" Kaoru was slightly surprised. Facing the clay owl bomb that continued to fly towards him, Kaoru pushed off the ground and retreated rapidly.

The bomb was targeting him. He needed to get away from Hina first.

The clay owl bomb followed him, flying past Hina and heading straight for Kaoru.

"Katsu!" Seeing that the clay owl bomb was in front of Kaoru, Deidara detonated the bomb!

"Boom!" The owl exploded, creating a large cloud of smoke that completely enveloped Kaoru.

"Kaoru!" Hina shouted, frightened.

"I'm fine," Kaoru's calm voice said. His figure emerged from the smoke, gracefully flipping in the air before landing safely on the ground.

He had managed to escape the blast radius of the owl bomb by a hair's breadth.

"You dodged it!" Deidara said, a sinister smile on his face. He then made hand seals. "But you won't dodge this!"

Kaoru felt something tighten around his body. A two-meter-long white centipede bomb burst from the ground, wrapping around him like a rope!

"Hahaha, you didn't expect this, did you? I predicted where you'd land and set up a trap." Deidara laughed maniacally. "You're all talk, brat. Your fighting power is weak!"

"So that's how it is..." Shin frowned. "The owl bomb was just a distraction to lure Kaoru into a trap. This blonde kid is strong... I have to save Kaoru."

He quickly took out his scroll, preparing to attack.

"You're pretty clever," Kaoru said, smiling calmly, showing no signs of panic.

"That calm look on your face is pissing me off!" Deidara said angrily, making a hand seal. "Katsu!"

"Kaoru!" Shin moved to save Kaoru.

"Boom!" Another loud explosion rang out. Shin was too late.

The centipede wrapped around Kaoru exploded, creating an even larger blast.

The smoke filled the entire alleyway.

"Kaoru?" Shin and Hina stared at the smoke, worried.
