Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: Ascending Korin Tower

Northern Forest, Earth.

"Fatty, how many cases of instant noodles did you steal this time?"

"Not much. Only… five billion buckets."

"Damn it! I was wondering why the shelves were suddenly empty! So it was you!"

"Hahaha! If I didn't take them, would I just leave them for you? How many did you grab?"

"Not much. Only ten billion."

"Beerus, you damn bastard!!"

"..."

In just a single week, Beerus and Champa had nearly wiped out the entire world's supply of instant noodles.

A week later, Gran and the others returned to the base of Korin Tower.

"Speaking of which, Lord Beerus…"

Gran grinned. "Didn't you say that if instant noodles weren't good, you'd blow up Earth?"

Beerus: "..."

"Hahahaha!"

Champa burst into laughter. "Little guy, you still don't know, huh? Your 'Destroyer Lord' is all talk."

"Oh? You want to mock me again, Fatty?" Beerus narrowed his eyes. "Weren't you the one bragging that your Dondon Bird Eggs were the most delicious food in the universe—"

Before he finished, Champa froze. His trauma was reactivated instantly.

Pure shame.

"B–Beerus!! I'll kill you!!!"

The cat-and-cat death match resumed.

Whis and Vados paid them no mind and calmly approached Korin Tower.

Standing before the towering structure, they placed their hands on the surface and exchanged puzzled looks.

"Sister, does this feel… familiar to you?"

"I can't recall anything. But yes… it feels strangely familiar."

The carvings, the ancient stone, the aura lingering around the tower — everything felt impossibly old.

"Gran," Whis asked, "your senzu beans were transferred from this planet originally, correct?"

Back during Gran's training journey, he had asked Porunga on Namek to relocate Earth's senzu beans to his dimension.

"Yes. The senzu beans come from somewhere atop this tower."

In truth, Korin Tower held far more than just senzu beans — the Sacred Water that awakened hidden potential, and three scrying water jars that could show a person's past, present, and future…

Vados tilted her head. "What exactly is a senzu bean?"

"This thing."

Gran took out two senzu beans and tossed one to each angel.

Whis and Vados examined them carefully.

"There's… an overwhelming healing force inside."

Vados pinched the bean delicately between her jade-like fingers, her expression tightening.

"I sense something on par with our angelic healing magic."

"Correct. This can fully restore any injury instantly. In some aspects, it's even stronger than angel magic."

Whis returned the bean to Gran without further questions.

He didn't bother asking how Gran knew about such secrets.

After all, Gran himself was a walking mystery — even his dimensional growth had no clear explanation.

"Sister," Whis asked, "interested in going up?"

"Of course."

Gran let out a breath of relief as he pocketed the beans. Fortunately, Whis didn't pry.

"In that case, let's head up," Gran said, rising into the sky.

Whis and Vados exchanged a glance, nodded, and followed.

The Elder Kai trio quickly chased after them.

At the bottom, only Beerus and Champa were left brawling like idiots.

A moment later

"Huh? Where'd everyone go?" Beerus finally noticed.

"Damn it — they flew up the tower!" Champa snarled. "Always picking fights with me! See? Everyone left because of you! Useless twig!"

Beerus cracked his knuckles.

Crack—crack—crack.

Champa's face drained of color. "W–W–What are you doing?"

"What else? Time for you to taste my Fist of Love."

A second later

"AAAAAAAAAHHH!!!"

The forest echoed with Champa's screams.

Moments later, a swollen pig-faced cat and a skinny purple skeleton chased after the group up the tower.

While flying, the group stayed low-speed, observing Korin Tower's structure as they ascended.

Atop Korin Tower

Korin, standing on the balcony, peered down nervously at the approaching figures.

"S–Such terrifying pressure…"

"Is this… dimensional pressure?! Who are they?! …Are they all gods?!"

Cold sweat dripped down his back.

Since when did Earth have so many divine beings?!

"They're coming!"

Korin jumped off the railing.

FWOOOOSH!

Eight figures landed at the top of the tower — and the sheer force of their presence crushed Korin flat against the floor.

"A… a cat?"

Whis and Vados stared at him thoughtfully.

This was indeed just a cat — one who had cultivated a sliver of dimensional energy, granting him longevity far beyond a normal animal.

Clearly, this ancient tower had nothing to do with him.

Gran realized the same thing. He'd half-expected Korin to be some ancient, powerful entity — but this was just a well-trained cat.

Ignoring him for now, Gran led the angels around the tower.

After exploring every chamber, they returned to the center hall.

This time, the expressions on Whis and Vados had grown solemn.

Hundreds of senzu beans, a jar of Sacred Water, three scrying water jars — these were not items mortals should possess.

Especially the Sacred Water — despite its potential-awakening ability, it held a deadly toxicity.

A normal person without potential… would surely die.
