The playful bickering finally died down as the Old Supreme Kai crouched beside little Broly.
His attention never left the child. From time to time, he even poked at Broly's limbs… and at one point he casually tugged open someone's waistband to check something.
"..."
Everyone was collectively speechless.
Silence settled over the Realm of the Supreme Kais once more.
Time trickled by. After half an hour, the Old Supreme Kai was still staring intently at Broly.
Seeing that he hadn't reacted at all, Gran grew anxious.
He had already decided long ago that Broly would be his little brother — if the Old Supreme Kai truly had no solution to Broly's berserk nature, then Broly's future would be severely limited.
In that case… how could he ever dream of following in Odys's footsteps, defeating a God of Destruction, or even challenging the Omni-King?
After all… the era had changed!
"Old man, you done yet?" Beerus said impatiently.
"I'm done."
The Old Supreme Kai stood up. After squatting so long, his ancient joints all crackled loudly as he straightened himself.
"So? What did you find?"
Gran rushed to help him up — at that age, one wrong move and the old man might throw out his back.
"Not bad. Boy, you may annoy me often, but when it comes to respecting your elders, you're leagues better than Shin."
He shot a sharp glare at Shin, who stood there blankly.
Shin: "..."
Gran: "..."
I'm a candidate God of Destruction, someone who can casually wipe out a star field, and you're lecturing me about respecting elders?
"Enough nonsense. Why did you say Broly's transformation isn't a mistake?" Beerus pressed.
He really wanted to hear what explanation this old fossil had cooked up.
Being urged on, the Old Supreme Kai didn't panic in the slightest. He loosened his wiry joints, then finally spoke:
"When I first witnessed Gran's golden-haired transformation years ago, I too thought that form was wrong."
"But later, when you told me Saiyan records mention a final, ultimate form beyond it…"
"It was then that I realized I had misunderstood something fundamental."
Hands clasped behind his back, his expression turned solemn.
He fell silent again, deep in thought. The others didn't disturb him.
After a short moment, he suddenly said:
"If Gran's transformation wasn't a mistake… then why should this child's extreme berserk state be one?"
"After all… if something exists, it must have its purpose."
Those words immediately sharpened the gaze of every god present.
Whis inhaled slowly. Though the Old Supreme Kai hadn't explained how Broly's berserk state was correct…
His reasoning was flawless.
Whis remembered a conversation from long ago — when he asked his father, the Grand Priest, about such things.
Everything in the world has meaning. If something exists, it must be reasonable. If someone had resolved the flaws of Odys… would Odys's fate have been different?
So that was it.
It seemed the Grand Priest had foreseen that one day Whis would encounter a Saiyan with this exact constitution.
Was this… a hint left for him?
Whis shifted his gaze back to the Old Supreme Kai, newfound respect in his eyes.
Gran was thinking the same.
He knew his own Super Saiyan transformation wasn't erroneous — but the legendary berserker form like Broly's truly felt problematic to him.
Yet the explanation was surprisingly convincing.
He couldn't deny it — the old man really was impressive.
"Since you've said all that, have you figured out how to prevent him from losing control?" Beerus asked again.
Gran immediately perked up. Whether his little brother soared or crashed depended entirely on this old god.
"At the moment, I have one possible solution… but it's unreliable," the Old Supreme Kai said.
"Tell us anyway, unreliable or not!" Gran urged.
"Gran is right. Old Supreme Kai, please share it," Whis added.
"Very well."
The Old Supreme Kai glanced at little Broly, eyes half narrowed.
"Although he hasn't transformed into that ultimate berserk state yet, through observation, I believe his power comes entirely from emotional rage."
"In other words — the more he loses his rationality, the faster his strength rises."
"But unlike Gran's transformation, his form is pure savagery. To call it 'embodiment of berserk fury' is no exaggeration."
"So…"
He paused briefly, then continued:
"To maintain his rationality permanently… the only method I can think of is to find the legendary Super Wish Orbs."
Super Wish Orbs?
Everyone widened their eyes.
Right — those existed too.
Shin cautiously asked, "Old Supreme Kai, you mean using the Super Shenron to remove Broly's berserk factor?"
Long ago, he hadn't known the Super Dragon Balls existed — not until he went to Namek with Gran.
"…Are you stupid?" Gran stared at him like he was an idiot. "Our Saiyan power comes from the berserk factor. If we remove it, how are we supposed to transform?"
Then Gran sharply turned toward the Old Supreme Kai.
"Old Supreme Kai… don't tell me that was your plan?"
Silence.
The Old Supreme Kai looked embarrassed.
"Cough… cough. Which is why I said it was unreliable."
Gran: "..."
Whis and Beerus exchanged a look — both speechless.
Removing the berserk factor would keep Broly rational…
… but it would also cripple him entirely.
"Let me think. There must be another way."
The Old Supreme Kai looked at Gran.
"I'll resolve Broly's problem. But you shouldn't be idling either. It's time for you to train in the Rules of Destruction."
