Chapter 8 - Chapter Eight

Bianca stormed into the living room, her face full of fake anger. "You think you're better than me now?" she shouted, stepping close to Rina. Rina didn't even flinch, she just looked at her with calm eyes, not saying a word.

But when she saw Luis walking in from the hallway, Bianca quickly changed her tone. She grabbed Rina's wrist and suddenly threw herself backward, letting out a loud cry. "Ahhh! Rina pushed me!"

Luis froze for a second before rushing over, catching Bianca as she pretended to fall. Her fake tears came fast, her hand holding her stomach like she was in pain. "My baby! Luis, she pushed me!"

Rina stood there in shock but didn't say anything. She just folded her arms, watching the show unfold. Luis panicked, carrying Bianca to the car and rushing her to the hospital.

When they arrived, Bianca kept crying, whispering to the nurses that she was bleeding. Luis held her hand, his face pale with worry. But Rina wasn't moved. She knew Bianca too well.

While they were busy checking Bianca, Rina quietly walked into the room and stood by the door. Her eyes caught something strange — a small tube leading under Bianca's dress. Without hesitation, she reached down and pulled out a half-full blood bag hidden under her clothes.

The nurse gasped. Luis froze. Bianca's face turned white.

Rina raised the bag slowly and smiled coldly. "You dropped something," she said softly, her voice calm but sharp enough to cut through the silence.

Luis stared between them, confused and furious. But before he could speak, the doctor came out with a clipboard. "Mr. Luis," he said calmly, "your fiancée is fine. But she's carrying twins. She only lost one."

Bianca's eyes widened. That wasn't part of her plan. She turned to the doctor, stuttering, "W-what do you mean twins?"

But the doctor looked straight at Rina before continuing, "Yes. You're still pregnant with one child."

Rina gave a faint smile. She had already paid the hospital to twist the story — her quiet revenge.

As Bianca faked another faint, Rina leaned closer and whispered in her ear, "Next time, make sure your lies are cleaner." Then she walked out gracefully, her heels clicking on the tile floor, leaving Luis speechless and Bianca trembling in shock.

After everything that happened at the hospital, Rina didn't want to see Luis or Bianca again that night. Her phone kept buzzing, but she ignored every call. Instead, she went straight to Alex's mansion.

When Alex opened the door and saw her tired face, he didn't even ask what was wrong. He just pulled her into a soft hug. "You look exhausted, Rina," he said quietly.

She looked up at him, her eyes glimmering under the soft light. "Can I stay here tonight?"

"Of course," he said, no hesitation in his voice.

He led her upstairs to his room. It was large and warm, smelling faintly of cedar and cologne. She changed into one of his shirts, the fabric falling loosely on her, and sat on the edge of the bed. Alex came over and handed her a glass of water.

"You don't have to talk about it," he said. "Just rest."

But before she could say thank you, he leaned closer, his hand brushing her cheek. Their eyes met, and the space between them disappeared. The kiss was slow, gentle at first, then deeper — filled with all the emotions they never spoke of.

When they pulled apart, she rested her head on his chest. "You shouldn't be this kind to me," she whispered.

"I've always been this kind," he replied softly. "You just never noticed."

She smiled faintly and fell asleep in his arms, her breathing soft and steady. Alex held her close through the night, his hand never letting go.

By morning, she woke up to the smell of coffee. Alex was already dressed, sitting by the bed, watching her with a small smile. "Good morning, sleepyhead," he teased.

She laughed lightly. "You didn't sleep much, did you?"

He shook his head. "Didn't want to."

Later that day, he took her out — just the two of them. They went for brunch at a quiet rooftop restaurant overlooking the city. The air was fresh, the sky clear. Rina wore a cream-colored dress that danced with the wind, and Alex couldn't stop looking at her.

They talked, laughed, and for a few hours, she forgot all the pain. When he reached across the table and took her hand, she didn't pull away.

For the first time since her rebirth, Rina felt peace.

When Rina got home that evening, the moment she stepped through the door, she already felt the tension in the air. Luis was pacing the living room, his tie loosened, his face tight with anger. Bianca sat on the couch pretending to look weak, her arm wrapped in a bandage, eyes red from fake tears.

"Where have you been, Rina?" Luis snapped the moment he saw her.

Rina looked at him calmly, setting her purse down on the table. "Out."

"Out?" His voice rose. "You've been gone all night, and you think you can just walk in and say out?"

Bianca sniffled and said weakly, "Luis, don't shout at her… it's not good for the baby."

Rina turned her head slowly, her eyes cold. "You mean the baby that came from a blood bag?"

Bianca froze, her face paling instantly. Luis frowned, confused. "What are you talking about?"

Rina smiled faintly. "Nothing you'd understand, Luis. Why don't you go ask your innocent little Bianca what she hides under her dress?"

Bianca immediately faked a cough, trying to draw his attention away. "Luis, please, she's just angry—"

"Enough," Rina said sharply. "I'm tired of this act. You can both play house somewhere else, but not here."

Luis stepped closer, trying to regain control. "Rina, this is my house—"

She cut him off with a soft laugh. "Our house, Luis. And as long as I'm still your wife, I'll live how I want."

Bianca tried again, standing up and grabbing Luis's arm. "Luis, let's go. She's being cruel—"

Rina glanced at the two of them, her eyes glittering. "You should be careful, Bianca. Lies have a way of falling apart."

Without another word, she walked upstairs, her heels clicking against the marble. Luis called after her, but she didn't stop. She went straight to her room, locked the door, and exhaled deeply.

Downstairs, Luis and Bianca started arguing — he accused her of hiding things, she cried and denied everything. The chaos echoed faintly through the walls, but Rina didn't care.

She slipped into a silk nightgown, poured herself a glass of red wine, and stood by the window watching the city lights. A small smile touched her lips.

Let them destroy each other, she thought.

Her real war had just begun.
