Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Second Summoning - Klee

The Fifth Day

Morning.

In the underground storage room.

Early in the morning, before the rooster had even crowed, Xiang En was already awake. Filled with excitement, he pulled Kagura from the next room and brought her here.

Kagura was bleary-eyed, her hair disheveled, sitting on a chair with her knees hugged to her chest, wearing only a white nightgown.

"Next time, I'm definitely locking my bedroom door!"

She rubbed her eyes. Her small face still held the confusion of sleep. After collecting herself for a while, she looked at Xiang En menacingly.

Xiang En, however, was prepared for this.

He pulled a huge lollipop from his pocket, and under the girl's confused gaze, he gently slipped it into her slightly agape mouth.

"Mmm…?" Kagura instinctively struggled a couple of times, but as the sweetness of the lollipop hit her taste buds, her eyes immediately lit up, and her body instantly calmed down.

"Hmph, I won't be bought off by just one lollipop!" she argued unconvincingly, all while greedily licking the candy.

"Yes, yes, you have the most integrity…"

Xiang En chuckled, patting her small head. His eyes suddenly filled with excitement.

The character summon he had waited three days for had finally unlocked a moment ago.

Without any hesitation, Xiang En moved the bomb they had stored yesterday to the center of the warehouse. He focused his intent and stared expectantly at the floor.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

First, a sudden gust of wind erupted, blowing the scattered items in the room, making them rattle.

After the wind, the floor emitted streaks of ethereal blue light, gradually engulfing the entire warehouse. Xiang En clearly saw this time that the ground was covered in ancient, crisscrossing runes that formed a circular summoning array from the inside out.

In the next moment, the space shattered, and the air contracted like flowing water. A black vortex suddenly materialized in the center of the warehouse.

A petite red figure jumped out of the vortex, landing on the ground with a pat.

Pointed ears, light brown hair, and ruby-like eyes filled with curiosity about this world. She carried a bulging small leather backpack on her back, clutching the straps in front. Based on her figure, she looked exactly like an elementary school student with a backpack.

The combination of her short skirt, knee-high socks, and long boots emphasized her delicate and adorable characteristics.

"Excuse me, is this really a place where Klee can blast fish?"

The little Loli tilted her head. Her large, watery eyes were full of expectation, as if she had been waiting for a long time. Her voice was clear and ethereal.

Blast... fish?

Xiang En's mouth twitched, his emotions a mixture of surprise and annoyance.

As the little Loli spoke her first sentence, her information gradually surfaced in Xiang En's mind.

[Name: Xiang En] [Age: 24] [Race: Human (91%), Yato (5%), Elf (4%)] [Ability: Haoshoku Haki (Awakened) (%), Pyro Element Control (Mastery) (%)]

Affected by the Elf bloodline, Xiang En's skin lightened by one shade. His complexion was now nearly identical to Kagura's, and his body felt even lighter. He felt that if he exerted himself, he could even run on smooth walls.

Simultaneously, in his increasingly reddish pupils, he could now see the Pyro Element permeating the air. He felt that with slight guidance, he could condense a fireball in his hand out of thin air.

Sure enough, the Mera Mera no Mi (Flame-Flame Fruit) is for dogs... (A common Chinese internet meme, implying the elemental ability is better than the Devil Fruit.)

"Why blast fish? Shouldn't fish be caught and then eaten?" Kagura's voice dragged Xiang En back to reality.

"Mmm... Klee doesn't know, but it's very fun, and the blasted fish are cooked and edible too!" Klee looked at the "big sister" who didn't seem much older than her, tilting her head to explain.

During this, her gaze also continuously flitted over the still-dazed older brother beside her. She felt his aura becoming increasingly familiar, just like family.

"Cooked by blasting?" Kagura was stunned. She instantly felt that the lollipop in her mouth was less appealing. She immediately ran over and grabbed Klee's small hand:

"Let's go right now!"

"Okay!" Hearing that the "big sister" would take her to blast fish and wanted to join, Klee's eyes sparkled happily.

Then, she turned her curious gaze to Xiang En: "Are you Big Brother Xiang En?"

Big Brother Xiang En?

Hearing that sweet voice, Xiang En felt his heart melt.

"Yes, I'm Xiang En. How did you know my name?" Xiang En lowered his voice instinctively, speaking gently.

"My name is Klee, from the Knights of Favonius. Today, I was facing the wall in solitary confinement... no, I was spacing out in my room, when I suddenly heard a voice."

"It said that if Klee came to another world and became a companion to a Big Brother named Xiang En, Klee could freely blast fish from now on…"

Klee explained. By the end, her eyes grew brighter. She could barely contain her excitement, eager to go out and blast fish with her new "big sister."

A child's thoughts are usually written all over their face. Seeing her eagerness, Xiang En, of course, wouldn't delay any longer and said with a smile:

"This world has no shortage of fish. Let Kagura take you out to play."

After a polite farewell, Klee took the hand of the already impatient Kagura, and the two skipped happily out the door.

Xiang En watched their retreating figures with the relieved satisfaction of an old father.

Kagura is amazing. In just a moment, her relationship with the new partner had progressed rapidly. By the time they returned, they would likely be the best of friends.

And this atmosphere of harmonious companionship was exactly what Xiang En hoped to see.

However, as if recalling a terrifying scene, a look of panic flashed in Xiang En's eyes.

Did I just... confidently let that combination go out to play together?

He knew Kagura's temperament very well: spontaneous, fearless, and audacious enough to challenge Admiral Kizaru.

And Klee, while appearing to be a harmless little Loli, was absolutely not a quiet child, based on Xiang En's knowledge of her. The bulging bombs in the backpack behind her were proof of that.

If he truly let those two out to play by themselves, the entire Sabaody Archipelago might be bombed and sunk by tomorrow.

At this thought, Xiang En's eyelids twitched violently. He quickly stood up and chased after the direction they had left.

But just as he stepped out the door, a familiar, kind face appeared in the doorway.

"Yo, little brother Xiang En, you look like you're doing very well lately?"

Rayleigh was holding three bottles of liquor, having just arrived at Xiang En's doorstep. Old Niel was standing beside him, and a large pile of groceries in bubble bags was tethered behind them.
