Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 Klee's Bounty

Here is the English translation of the passage:

"Kid, goodbye!!!"

Xiang En's face twitched as he looked at the tearful group bidding him farewell at the courtyard gate. He couldn't understand why the scenario he had mentally prepared—getting robbed and then fighting back—had somehow devolved into a friendly exchange followed by them escorting him home.

This band of "good samaritans" had even helped him carry hundreds of portions of breakfast all the way, and now they were winded. Xiang En felt slightly guilty, so he gestured toward the cottage behind him.

"Why don't you come in and rest for a bit?"

"Can we really? Then we'll…"

The gang leader's eyes flashed with a hint of hidden greed. Driven by fear of Xiang En's unknown strength, he had initially decided to abandon the "deal," but now that Xiang En was offering an invitation, showing complete trust, did this mean he still had a chance to score?

Just as he was about to accept the invitation, a voice drifted from inside the courtyard.

"Going out for breakfast shouldn't take that long, should it?"

As the voice fell, a bare-chested, muscular man, his muscles bulging, slowly emerged from the courtyard.

He held a sharp, white-glowing blade. His chest heaved with heavy breaths, and his scarred upper body was slick with sweat. It was Drake, who had been training in the yard since Xiang En left.

He saw the group next to Xiang En. With his years in the Navy and as a pirate, he recognized their identity immediately from their clothing and demeanor, and his brow furrowed involuntarily.

"These men are…?"

The question masked a fierce, scrutinizing gaze—one not directed at Xiang En. The thugs immediately felt a chilling, bone-deep coldness and shivered collectively.

Who is this person? He's terrifying.

At the first sight of Drake, the gang leader's predatory thoughts instantly vanished. He realized this man was a genuine killer hardened by battle; the scars didn't lie.

"Kid! Since we've seen you home, we'll be leaving now! No need to see us out!" he exclaimed. "You damn fools! Hurry up and move!" He then rallied his subordinates, who were too frightened by Drake to speak, and they scurried away, turning tail and running.

"Eh? Weren't you going to rest at my place…?" Xiang En's attempt to call them back was cut short. The group vanished as if fleeing for their lives.

"Sigh, why does everyone I meet today finish talking and then run away?" Xiang En sighed, feeling helpless.

"By the sound of it, you ran into more than just that one group today?" Drake observed.

"Yes, there was another guy who was tracking me early this morning. When I spotted him, he used his Devil Fruit ability and teleported away with his bear."

Chaos and the Catastrophe

Xiang En carried the breakfast into the house. By now, Kagura and Klee were awake.

Kagura was having the most comfortable morning yet: no need to change bandages overnight, no rude awakening by Xiang En. She slept until she naturally woke up and was greeted by a fragrant breakfast.

"Xia-chan!"

She knew exactly who bought the food because it was all her favorite. Delighted, she leaped from the second floor and tackled Xiang En in a flying hug.

The result was predictable: with a thud and a familiar cry of pain, Xiang En embraced the girl's soft body while making intimate contact with the floor himself.

"Idiot, why do you jump from such a high place! What are you thinking all day long? If I hadn't caught you…"

A flood of complaints followed, but Kagura simply apologized (and promised she'd do it again), happily eating her breakfast, only slightly bothered by the routine head-knocks.

Klee descended the stairs. She was still in her fiery red outfit, but wore slippers, exposing her white, delicate feet. She wasn't carrying her backpack, suggesting she wasn't planning on leaving immediately.

"Good morning, everyone," Klee mumbled. Her voice lacked its usual vitality, and she rubbed her eyes, revealing prominent dark circles.

"Klee, did you not sleep well? Did Xia-chan the pervert harass you in your room last night—mmph!" Kagura asked with concern, instantly veering into nonsense before Xiang En plugged her mouth with a donut.

"Eat your food!" Xiang En aggressively shoved several more donuts into her mouth.

Xiang En noticed Klee's exhaustion and offered her breakfast. "Did you not sleep last night, Klee?"

He remembered the volatile Pyro Element power he felt from her room.

"Mmm… Yesterday, Big Brother Xiang En said we would encounter many fish bigger than ships, so Klee spent all night researching new types of bombs."

Klee took a bite of the food, chewing slowly, looking exquisitely elegant—the complete opposite of Kagura's eating style.

"What? You were making bombs in the room last night?!"

Drake exclaimed in sheer terror, nearly choking. He quickly drank milk to recover, his gaze sternly fixed on Xiang En.

"You let her make bombs alone in the house? We live here too!"

Drake was already keenly aware of the danger posed by the tiny girl; her destructive potential was like a living Pacifista. And this dangerous girl had been manufacturing explosives right under his nose while he slept!

"Huh? Is there a problem?" Xiang En looked up, genuinely puzzled.

Klee tilted her small head up, blinking at him with equal confusion.

Drake sadly realized that their synchronized, bewildered expressions showed they were completely unaware of the danger of letting a child build explosives indoors.

"No, seriously, don't you think a little girl—" Drake began, frustrated, but he was interrupted by footsteps outside the yard.

The four at the table looked up. Old Niel was at the doorway, likely stopping by on his way to work at the shipyard. Xiang En was unconcerned, but his gaze was instantly drawn to a Wanted Poster Old Niel held in his hand.

Light brown hair, a fiery red short skirt, a delicate, childlike face…

Though it was a hand-drawn illustration, it bore a striking resemblance to his newest crewmate, Klee.

The large print beneath the picture read: Criminal for the Destruction of a Celestial Dragon Vessel, The Wicked Bomb Maniac, Elf Girl Carrying Bombs, Wanted by the Navy as "The Fleeing Sun."
