Chapter 1 - Prolonged

PROLONGED.

Lehlogonolo smiled as she bent down, planting a soft kiss on each of her children's foreheads. The scent of their freshly washed hair mixed with the morning air as they stood in front of the door, backpacks slung over their shoulders, ready to face the day.

"Behave yourselves at school," she said gently, adjusting Rorisang's collar and smoothing down her shirt. "And remember, no matter what, I'm always proud of you."

Rorisang, usually confident, smiled up at her mother. "We will, Mom."

"Hope this time rori won't be bullied mom I'm tired of changing schools now" nhlamulo said through his teeth grabbing an apple.

They were two sweet 16 years old twins whom had to change schools every chance they get just to protect the peace of rorisang imagine living a private school to another which is more costly but anyways their parents are rich eyy.

Mabulala, still groggy from just waking up, murmured, "I'll be home by five. I'll check up on them, neh?"

Lehlogonolo gave a nod, giving Mabolala a brief, affectionate smile before turning back to her kids. "Take care of each other, okay?"

With a final squeeze of their shoulders, she watched them walk out the door, the soft click of the door closing behind them the only sound left.

She grabbed her suitcase ready to attack the world too.

Then , they got into their transport as usual, the driver gave them each a 200 notes for their lunch.

Rorisang hadn't even made it halfway down the schoolyard before the whispers started. She knew they were talking about her before they even spoke, their eyes glued to her as she passed by. But it was when she reached her locker that it happened.

Two girls, tall and smirking, stepped in front of her. "Well, look who decided to show up aNewbie that's rare."

"Yeah, looking all perfect and shiny, thinking you're special," one said with a sneer, grabbing her backpack.

"too bad she is so black like a charcoal, damn where you born in another planet?" the tall mocked her making her other friend laugh.

Ops.

Before Rorisang could protest, they yanked it from her shoulders, tossing it to the ground with a sharp thud. Books and papers spilled out, scattering like leaves in the wind. The girls laughed, stepping over the mess.

"Pick up your things, Rorisang. Or are you too good for that?"

Rorisang felt the sting of humiliation, but she clenched her fists. "You won't get away with this," she muttered, bending down to gather her things, she hated this ___bring black, she is even asking herself why didn't this be her brother, that would be better.

She scoffs taking her diary into her backpack.

"now my lunch is ruined oh damn not my favorite yogurt" rorisang says.
