After his graduation, Adam had to travel to a distant country to continue his studies.
Lian tried to stop him, but he said:
> "What I want from you is to wait — not to say goodbye."
He left her a silver ring and said:
> "If you ever feel that I'm late, don't take it off. It will be my way back to you."
And he left…
She wrote to him every day, until the day came when he no longer replied.
Then a week passed, then a month, then a year.
His friends said he had been lost in a train accident during one of his domestic trips there.
But no body was ever found.
Lian refused to believe it.
She told everyone:
> "He's alive. The train is just late."
And from that day on, she began to come to the station every year at the same time — to wait for him.
