Morning arrived peacefully, perhaps too peacefully, but that had been the case for the past few months.
Sunlight streamed through the curtains as Stella slowly opened her eyes.
For a few seconds, she remained still. Then her brow furrowed.

The Moon Ring sat quietly on her finger. She stared at it for several seconds longer.
It had been part of the items that manifested when she unlocked the scroll. At that time, she had thought it was part of the mysterious scroll her mother had left behind.
