When the class ended, everyone was still chatting when the principal walked in. Instantly, the students stood up.
"Sit down, everyone," the principal said with a calm smile. "Today, a new student has joined your school — Sita. Where is she?"
Sita stood up confidently.
The principal said"Hello, Sita" "How do you feel in our school so far? Any problems or discomfort?"
Sita replied politely, "No, ma'am. I don't have any problems. If I do, I'll let you know."
The principal nodded, pleased. Then she looked around the class.
"Now, where is that brat Ram?"
At the back bench, Ram tried to hide his face behind a book. But the principal spotted him immediately.
"Ram!" she called out sharply.
Ram looked up slowly. "Yes, ma'am… do you need something?"
The principal crossed her arms. "Don't talk to me in that funny tone. Sita is a new transfer student. She came from America. You're going to help her with her studies — and show her around the entire school."
Ram blinked. "Me?"
"Yes, you! Do I look blind?" the principal snapped. "And take off that cap — don't think I didn't notice your new haircut. If you don't want to be punished, go now. Show her everything."
The class giggled quietly as Ram sighed and got up.
Sita followed him out, the air between them awkward and silent.
'Why did she choose him of all people?' Sita thought, frowning.
Meanwhile, Ram slapped his own cheek lightly and muttered, "She's not going to eat you, idiot. Why are you scared of a lemon?"
Finally, he turned to her and said, "Come this way."
He showed her the playground, cafeteria, library, principal's office, and even the bathrooms. Everything went fine — until—
"Ahh! Cockroach!" Sita screamed, her eyes wide in panic. Out of pure fear, she grabbed Ram's arm tightly and hid behind him.
Ram froze, eyes wide. For a moment, he didn't know what to do.
Then, seeing Sita's terrified face, he burst out laughing.
Sita's cheeks turned pink. She covered her face with her hands. "Don't laugh! It was right there!"
Ram tried to hold back his laughter. "You… you scared to a cockroach"
Out of embarrassment, Sita gave him a small kick. "If you tell anyone about this, I'll complain to the principal!"
When they returned to class, both were quiet and avoided eye contact. Everyone looked at them curiously, whispering, "Something happened between them?"
Neither of them spoke a word.
