Blanche's POV
Ashlee plastered on an innocent expression and cuddled closer to Kaden.
Kaden shot her an icy look. "Really? You planning to beat her to death?"
Ashlee wrapped herself around his arm, putting on a sweet voice. "Please? Just let me finish what I started?"
When Kaden realized she wasn't joking, he actually laughed. "You break her, you deal with the fallout."
Ashlee wrinkled her nose and pouted, but backed down.
Kaden's attention shifted back to me, sprawled across the hospital bed. My face was a mess of bruises, blood still trickling from my nose, and under the thin hospital gown, fresh blood stained my inner thigh.
Ashlee hadn't shown any mercy—she'd torn at my gown until it barely hung on, leaving me practically exposed.
Right now, I lay there completely destroyed and powerless, each breath sending waves of agony through my body.
Seeing me so broken down, Kaden's rage finally seemed to settle.
