Blanche's POV
My heart lurched when I caught Vincent's words.
I'd always figured Vincent had ulterior motives for being sweet to me, but every time he showed his real feelings, it threw me completely off balance.
Was it possible for someone to fake emotions this convincingly just for personal gain?
I couldn't shake the doubt—was Vincent putting on an elaborate show, or were his feelings genuine?
Truth was, I had zero clue what to think anymore.
I chose to quit overthinking everything.
Reflecting on what Vincent had said, I responded, "Honestly, none of it matters now."
My tone stayed even, and Vincent picked up that I wasn't just speaking from spite.
When he heard my response, Vincent flashed a grin and said, "Hey, starting fresh is always an option. Testing the waters with a few different guys wouldn't hurt."
I sank back against the headboard, completely drained.
