Blanche's POV

I had no idea what Vincent was planning, but I didn't push him for answers.

Blood kept seeping from his wound, and I needed to stop it quickly.

Once I finished bandaging him up, I said, "There. Just remember to change the dressing regularly."

I stuffed my supplies back into my bag.

When I glanced up, Vincent was still staring at me, so I met his gaze directly.

My steady look seemed to unnerve him. He dropped his eyes to his hands and muttered, "How bad is it?"

I didn't respond. Instead, I asked suddenly, "Vincent, what do you really want from me?"

The dining area was mostly deserted. Across the way, Camila and Dorian were playing happily at the little playground.

When Vincent heard my question, I could see realization dawn on his face—he knew I'd figured out something was wrong with his injury.

He must have forgotten I was a doctor when he deliberately hurt himself in the bathroom.

It probably only hit him when I started treating the wound.
