Author's Note

First and foremost, I would like to state that all rights to the story Tales of Demons and Gods are reserved for the author, Mad Snail. This is a work of fanfiction.

I wrote this story based on Mad Snail's original work and have tried my best to put my own spin on it while remaining as faithful as possible to the source. Therefore, please don't expect anything that deviates too much from the core of the original.

My objective for this project is simple: I have never read a fanfiction in this world that I found truly interesting, so I intended to do it myself, as Thanos so eloquently said. I like Nie Li as a protagonist, so don't expect me to take his things or steal his role. Will the romance be the same? I'm not sure. As I've been writing, a lot of things have happened because the characters "asked for it." I don't try to bend the narrative just to my liking; yes, the initial idea is mine, but as I keep writing, new things come to mind and others just happen naturally. I won't say more than this to avoid spoilers.

Now, about my writing process. Do I use AI? Yes, I do. But it's important to be very clear: the AI does not write for me. It is my editor. It helps me refine what I've written and gives me suggestions on how to get better. The AI corrects my many mistakes, since English isn't my mother tongue. I am deliberately writing in English, as this is an exercise for me to learn how to write in it. So I repeat, if you think the story is trash or whatever, that's my fault. Sorry for being a shite writer. I know I could just prompt my ideas and Gemini could write a better chapter than I did, but that wouldn't be mine.

I've had a pretty lengthy discussion with Gemini because it was interfering too much with my writing. Yes, I did have a discussion with an AI. I also talk with it like I would with a human editor. As Gemini can attest, I think this makes the writing process and its help more complete, because the AI comes to understand my entire process, not just the words I put on the page. Also, another thing to note: I write everything on my cellphone.

If you don't like what I've written, thank you for giving me a chance. If you do like it, your feedback is always welcome. And if you're just here to vent your daily rage—whatever is going on in your life—please seek help elsewhere. Let's keep the community positive.

Sincerely,

Heavenly Dragon
