Chapter 4 - Infinite Defense System I

In the year 2110, the Ascension Alliance governs most of Eurasia, which includes Europe and Asia. The Human Preservation Front (HPF) oversees all of Oceania, encompassing Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. The Black Reign Syndicate controls the entire Polar Frontier, consisting of the Arctic and Antarctica. Finally, the United Earth Federation and the Global Defense Force (UEFGDF) are responsible for all of Amerasia, covering both North and South America.

The Afronova region encompasses the entire continent of Africa, where a new national organization has suddenly emerged, called the Unbound Movement. This group consists of rebel forces and rogue class users, turning the continent into a battleground. They have resorted to shedding blood instead of utilizing the Simulation World, either due to a lack of education about the options available or because they distrust others.

Similar to the Black Reign Syndicate, Afronova is characterized by an anarchy government, where resources are stolen through territorial warfare, often accompanied by real violence.

As a result of this ongoing conflict, in the year 2115, the United Earth Federation has decided to focus its attention on the Afronova continent. The Federation aims to mediate the Anarchy War and facilitate peace negotiations. Consequently, the Federation will concentrate its resources on Afronova, temporarily recalling seventy-five percent of its military stationed around the world.

In the year 2116, the Luzvion Republic will increase its marine forces and military capabilities by establishing multiple Marine Defense Academies across its three largest islands: Luzvion Prime, where the capital city of Neo-Manila is located; the Vireya Cluster; and the Mindarion Expanse. By 2120, five years after the implementation of this initiative, the Luzvion Republic held its first celebration to honor an exceptional Filipino woman who became part of the Continental Commanders—her name was Celina Cruz Montaire.

In the year 2121, a young man named Accel Reyes Valdezar, or simply Accel, has just turned sixteen years old. He has arrived in Neo-Manila and, along with others, is being escorted to the Central System Management Authority (CSMA) to unlock his class specialization and job. Accel is an ordinary student who graduated from junior high school. However, before entering senior high school, he must unlock his class specialization and job in order to attend the Marine Defense Academy, which offers both senior high school education and training for combatting marine threats.

Accel had no grand ambitions; he was lazy and preferred to take on normal jobs that would ease the burden on his mother, aunt, and siblings. Unlike his talented and intelligent siblings, all he cared about was graduating and becoming a player who could explore easy mission levels to earn some wealth for himself and his family.

As he looked at the statue of Celina Cruz Montaire, he noticed that many sixteen-year-olds saw her as an inspiration. This was especially true for those who came from difficult or average backgrounds, as she, too, had faced challenges in her early childhood. Now, she represented hope for the younger generation, encouraging them not to give up.

Accel was in batch one when he and his group entered the Class Allocation Terminal. They were separated and placed in small, individual rooms as they waited, including Accel himself. As time passed, the Class Allocation Terminal activated, randomly assigning class jobs. Some students would be lucky, while others received more common class designations.

After a while, batch one, including Accel, was guided out of the room and proceeded to the reception hall, where they needed to register as student-license players. Accel approached the fifth reception table, placed both hands on the screen, and the female receptionist reviewed his status window.

"Okay, student Accel Reyes Valdezar, your class job is Tank, with a specialization in defense," she said with a smile, congratulating him. "After you receive your student-license player card, head to the Blacksmith where you will receive a free item. You can bring armor and weapons into both the CSMA and Marine Defense Force as long as you have your ID. Here is your player card. Next, please!"

Accel stood up and made his way to the Blacksmith in row fifteen. He showed his player card to the Blacksmith, who handed him a large two-handed wood-iron shield. Accel examined the shield and noted that it increased his health points by 100, his defense by 100, and had a shield attack rating of 10. After receiving his player card and the shield, he returned to his batch one, where everyone else had already received their items.

Following that, soldiers from the Marine Defense Academy distributed Marine Uniforms for Recruit Rank to batch one, including Accel. Each student was given a specific badge depending on their class jobs. Afterward, the escort agency transported the students from batch one and the rest of the group who had finished back to their homes, as they still had one week to prepare before entering the Marine Defense Academy.

It only took Accel an hour to get back home, as he used the Teleportation Gate to travel from the Central System Management Authority to Mindarion Expanse Island. The Mindarion Expanse is made up of 400 islands, which vary in size from small to large and can either float above the sea or lie within the waters. Accel lives on Turalis Isle, which consists of 50 small islands, each with a population of over 1,000 people. He resides on Turalis Isle #25 with his mother, aunt, and two younger sisters.

Turalis Isle is not a particularly peaceful place, as it frequently faces attacks from low-level sea monsters, which are recommended for players between levels 15 and 30. The main missions there revolve around trading and hunting these sea creatures.

Accel arrives at his two-story home to a warm hug from his mother and his two adorable younger sisters, while his aunt is busy cooking dinner. "I'm home, everyone," he announces.

During dinner, Accel shares the news that he has unlocked his class job as a Tank, with a specialization in Defense. His mother feels reassured, knowing that this will help make her son tougher and less likely to get hurt.

After dinner, Accel heads to a separate room where a picture of his father hangs on the wall. "Father, I have unlocked my class job that will allow me to protect everyone, just like you did," he says softly. "I love you, Father. It's my time to protect them in your stead." Accel's father passed away five years ago during a large-scale exploration of a new dimensional gate. He returned home gravely injured from a poison-type monster that ultimately took his life. In his final moments, he cherished time spent with his family before he died.
