Chapter 5 - WINDS OF CHANGE

Days turned into weeks, and Destiny's writing career began to take shape. She poured her heart into every chapter she wrote, and her readers could feel it. Her stories spoke of pain, strength, and healing reflections of her own journey.

Each morning, she woke up early, made breakfast for her ex-in-laws, and settled at her desk with renewed energy. The once-broken woman who cried herself to sleep was now a woman with purpose and vision.

Her novels began to attract attention. Comments and messages poured in readers praising her emotional depth and the rawness of her storytelling. One evening, as she scrolled through her messages, a particular one caught her eye.

"Your stories are so real they touch the heart. You write like someone who's lived every word. Never stop sharing your light."

The message came from a user named Ethan J. an editor and author on the same platform. Destiny smiled softly. It had been a long time since a man's words made her heart skip.

She hesitated for a moment, then replied,

"Thank you so much. Writing helps me heal, and I'm glad it can touch others too."

That single message turned into long conversations over days and weeks. They talked about writing, life, and dreams. Ethan was kind, patient, and always knew how to make her smile.

Her ex-in-laws began to notice the spark in her eyes again. One evening, as Destiny hummed while setting the table, her ex-mother-in-law chuckled softly.

"You've been glowing lately, my dear. Is there someone special making you smile like that?"

Destiny laughed, slightly embarrassed.

"No, Mom, it's just that things are going well with my writing."

But deep down, she knew that wasn't the whole truth. There was someone who believed in her, encouraged her, and made her feel seen again.

A few days later, Destiny received an unexpected email from the platform her story had been featured on the front page. Her followers doubled overnight, and her earnings began to increase. She couldn't believe her eyes.

She rushed downstairs, waving her phone in excitement.

"Mom! Dad! My story's been featured! People are loving it!"

Her ex-father-in-law smiled proudly.

"We knew you were destined for greatness, Destiny. This is just the beginning."

They celebrated that night with laughter and joy. Destiny felt an overwhelming wave of gratitude. For the first time in a long while, she wasn't just surviving she was living.

Later that night, she texted Ethan to share the news.

"Guess what? My story got featured!"

"I knew it would," he replied. "You have a gift, Destiny. The world is just beginning to see what I've seen all along."

Destiny felt her cheeks warm. His words carried a tenderness she hadn't felt in years.

She placed her hand gently over her belly and whispered,

"The winds are changing, my baby. Maybe… just maybe, this is our new beginning."

As the night deepened, Destiny sat by her window, looking out at the moonlight. The pain of her past still lingered, but it no longer defined her. She had found strength in her struggles, purpose in her pain, and maybe just maybe love waiting on the horizon.

The winds of change were indeed blowing, and Destiny was ready to embrace whatever they carried her way.
