Countless decaying arms reached out from the ink-black darkness, clinging to his body in a spine-chilling manner, their fingernails scraping against his skin, producing a grating sound.
At the same time, the mournful wails of the dead, like materialized sharp blades, exploded wildly within his skull, the sound seemingly intent on shattering and devouring his very soul.
But this utterly terrifying illusion lasted only a brief half-second.
In an instant, the sixth side of the Rubik's Cube in his hand suddenly burst forth with black light, and the illusion before him shattered and collapsed.
"Demonic Contract: Sobering Pain!"
The horned demon's mouth slowly twisted into a sinister grin as he raised the Rubik's Cube.
Six layers of overlapping black magic arrays quietly appeared on the Rubik's Cube's surface, each layer flickering with runes, intertwining with one another.
"Now, it's my turn to perform!" Douglas's voice was deep and hoarse, as if from a demon in hell.
Douglas's figure suddenly transformed into six illusory yet real afterimage clones, and each clone held the Skull Rubik's Cube firmly.
These six clones attacked Cana and the others simultaneously from six different directions.
The clone on the left was the first to strike, releasing chains as black as night from the Rubik's Cube in its hand. The chains, like agile venomous snakes, coiled and wove through the air, instantly entangling the Evil Crow King's broad wings.
The clone on the back right opened its mouth, and a bone-chilling Frost Breath spewed forth. The breath, like a materialized cold current, instantly froze the Frost Spirit.
The other four clones landed in the southeast, southwest, northeast, and northwest, raising the Rubik's Cube in their hands, which glowed with intense dark light. The sky was suddenly obscured by darkness, and visibility disappeared.
A strong sense of weakness came over them, and their magic power rapidly depleted. Moreover, various terrifying demonic whispers filled their ears.
Dark energy intertwined to form arrows that shot towards Cana.
Facing this sudden crisis, Cana showed no panic. She directly closed her eyes and threw three cards radiating golden light into the air.

The next second, pitch-black energy cannons shot out from the skull mouths, carrying an aura of destruction, and blasted towards Cana.
"Boom!"
A deafening roar echoed, and the ground was blasted by the pitch-black energy cannon, creating a massive crater with a diameter of ten meters. Dust flew, and gravel flew.
In this critical moment, the Frost Spirit violently shook its body, erupting with ice magic, breaking through the blockade. Then, it descended from the sky, unhesitatingly transforming its body into a crystal-clear ice barrier, blocking Cana.
Amidst the flying ice shards, Cana rolled nimbly, narrowly escaping the attack range.
"It's not over yet!" Douglas's crazed voice rang out.
He plunged his five fingers fiercely into the Rubik's Cube. In an instant, his entire right arm began to undergo a bizarre mutation, transforming into a hideous and terrifying demon's claw.
The giant claw was covered in dark purple scales, which regularly opened and closed with his breathing.
Douglas swung this demon's claw, appearing in front of the Evil Crow King in a flash, and the giant claw swung.
The Evil Crow King was unable to dodge and was sent flying by this powerful force.
Fortunately, its ghostly nature meant it wasn't severely injured. Thick black smoke billowed from the wound, and its size seemed to have shrunk slightly.
Immediately after, Douglas turned and swung his claw again, aiming directly at Cana.

By the time the last layer of ice crystal shattered, Cana had already leaped into mid-air with her agile movements.
At this moment, Cana tightly held a lightning card in her hand. On the card, lightning power surged and roared like an enraged dragon.
"Thunder God's Spear!"
As soon as she finished speaking, a two-meter-diameter pillar of lightning, like a thunderous giant dragon descending from the sky, struck directly at Douglas with an earth-shattering aura.
Douglas, seeing this, showed no fear. He raised the Rubik's Cube in his hand, and a layer of black energy cubes protected him.

But he showed no sign of retreat; instead, he suddenly revealed a crazed smile.
Just then, the Rubik's Cube burst forth with an eerie and mysterious light.
"Demonic Contract: Pain Reversal!" Douglas roared, and the black barrier protecting him dissipated, the remaining lightning violently striking him.
Douglas wore a sinister grin, showing no sign of pain, but on the other side, Cana's face suddenly contorted in agony.
Cana suddenly felt as if her entire body had been struck by lightning. The pain was like a sharp blade piercing directly into her heart, and intense numbness made her whole body tremble.
Douglas seized this fleeting opportunity. He clenched his demon's claw, and black energy rapidly condensed, forming an incredibly sharp greatsword.
He swung this shadow greatsword, cutting through the residual lightning, and thrust it directly at Cana.
"Cana!" Seeing this, the Frost Spirit unhesitatingly used its body to shield its master, pushing its hands forward and releasing intense cold air.
Douglas's demonized hand possessed astonishing power. He raised his hand and unleashed two consecutive dark sword auras, easily dispelling the cold air.
With a 'thud,' the shadow sword pierced through the Frost Spirit's ice crystal body, and cracks instantly spread across its entire body like a spiderweb.
"Come back!" Cana endured the intense pain throughout her body and summoned it with a raise of her hand.
The Frost Spirit's body released a bright ice-blue light, then condensed into a card that flew back into Cana's hand.
She quickly retrieved the nearly shattered Frost Spirit, her eyes filled with heartache and anger.
Douglas revealed a sinister smile, raising his sword and bringing it down on Cana.
Just then, the Evil Crow King suddenly appeared from the shadows on the ground. It vigorously flapped its smoke-emitting wings, stirring up a storm of black feathers.
Thousands of black feathers emitted thick black smoke, then transformed into Carrion Crows with blood-red eyes and pitch-black bodies, like a black torrent, surrounding Douglas.
The sharp beak of each Carrion Crow carried black smoke, which emitted an eerie aura, seemingly capable of eroding life.'
