Chapter 5 - Oh great, more trouble

Jin had to take a minute to calm his mind. He didn't know if this was a dream or reality. But the feeling that coursed through his body told him that he wasn't dreaming. He had really avenged his parents.

"H-He has powers?"

"How is that possible?"

Jin turned to the cage of men. "Oh yeah, they're here."

These men were nothing more than the playthings of Erosa's gang. He pitied them, understanding that there was nothing they could do to prevent this from happening to themselves.

If they had resisted, they would have been killed. Jin wouldn't be surprised if some of them took their own lives instead of becoming playthings.

He waved his hand, and the cage opened.

Jin nodded his head toward the elevator. "You're free now. I called the police on my way here, so they should be here soon."

"T-Thank you!"

"If it weren't for you, I don't know what would have happened to us."

"I owe you my life."

Jin gave them basic treatment using healing magic. "There's no need to thank me. I was here on my own journey; you all just happened to be nearby."

"Doesn't matter. You saved us, and that's the truth."

Jin smiled, nodded, then used mana to scramble their minds, making them forget that he was the one who saved them. Since he couldn't wipe their memory, he simply twisted their truth.

To them, they were saved by a masked individual with abilities. They wouldn't know his face, voice, or anything.

Jin waited for all of them to leave so he could burn this place to the ground. He didn't care if the police needed it for evidence or anything of the sort. This place belonged to Erosa, and he wanted it gone.

On his wrist was a bracelet that he never left home without. But it wasn't just any bracelet. It was a high-tech gadget called a Power Kit. Once activated, it can turn into a nanotech suit with all sorts of bells and whistles.

Anyssa gave it to him so he could protect himself when he's alone. Usually, men with money are able to purchase one, and if a family member works for the Aegis Corps, then a power kit is provided for them for free.

Jin could burn this place down using his mana, but there was no need to spend any more of his energy. He activated the glove part of his power kit and set the place on fire. Then, he tapped the tall and phased right through it.

"Let's go to the store now. I can't be late with dinner."

Far away across the city, on a skyscraper, was a woman who had the ability of Super vision. This allowed her to see very far, small objects, through objects, thermal signatures, and even blast lasers.

She was a vanguard, one that was meant to keep tabs on Erosa and take action if she did anything suspicious. When she was going to give her report, she spotted Jin walking into the building and decided to survey his actions.

"Interesting. I've never seen anything like this before." She licked her lips, remembering the face of Jin as he killed Erosa.

"I wonder how the higher-ups will react to a man being an esper." She tapped a button on her wrist, jumped off the skyscraper, then landed on a hover bike, riding to the Aegis Corps headquarters.

---

"Okay, so I need eggs, milk, bread, cheese, tortilla chips, elbow macaroni, cereal, water, and batteries. That annoying smoke alarm keeps beeping."

The store was occupied mostly by men since it was normal for them to do the shopping and other household chores. Even though not all women join the Aegis Corps, a lot of them go into law enforcement or the Military. If they don't join them, they go into some other profession that suits their power.

"Sweet, got everything. Time to go home." Jin checked out all of his items, then boarded the train to his home.

"Brittany'll be home in a few hours, and dinner is now completed. So, for now, I can just relax. Running the household is easy with my experience."

Jin loved this world, and he was glad he messed up when casting his spell. And as a bonus, he remembered to ride the all-male car this time on his way home.

Sitting down on a chair, he poured a glass of orange juice and closed his eyes to relax.

*BEEP*

"Fuck, I forgot about that. Stop making those noises!" He grabbed a ladder, twisted the spoke detector off, and changed its batteries.

"Finally, that annoying beeping is gone!"

Jin sat back down and rested his eyes for the next few hours.

*DING DONG*

"Coming!" Jin ran over to the door, opened it, and welcomed his family.

"How was your first day, Brittany?"

"Exhausting!" She dropped to the floor and refused to get up.

"What are you doing? Get up! You're not a floor mat!"

"I am now. You can step on me all you want. This is my purpose: to be a floor mat." She groaned tiredly.

"You mean it?" He asked

"Go for it."

Just as he was a bout to step on her ass, her mom came in.

"Hey, kids. How was your day? Brittany, what are you doing on the floor?" Anyssa nearly stepped on her daughter.

"It's okay, Mom, I'm a doormat now."

"Girl, if you don't get your ass off this ground!" She kicked Brittany onto the sofa.

Jin held up his arms. "Score! 1 point to Aunty Anyssa!"

"Heh, you're so silly. Mmm, dinner smells delicious. Oh, Jin, I hope there's enough for an extra person. I brought a friend today."

He shrugged. "There's enough. I cooked for a week anyway."

"Sweet. She's just getting something from her car. Prepare the table, we'll be eating soon."

"Alright." He went back to the kitchen.

"Give me a portion meant for three." Brittany held up her hand.

"How about you get your fat ass up here and do it yourself."

"You're so mean."
