Chapter 112: Sabaody Archipelago: The Aftermath of the Great Battle (Part 1)

Three individuals wearing masks and dressed in white stood on 28GR, observing the place where 27GR had once been. The area where Akainu and Eric 's pirate crew had fought had been destroyed, leaving only the broken roots of the trees floating on the surface of the sea.

One of them spoke: "We are late. Akainu failed to capture them."

Another added: "And now Akainu's life is unknown. All we know is that none of Eric 's crew have died."

The highest-ranking person asked: "What should we do now? The Five Elder Stars ordered the capture or immediate execution of Eric and Esdeath. But now their people have vanished without a trace."

After a brief silence, the person in the middle spoke again: "Then it becomes a long-term task. We'll continue the mission until it is completed, then return to the Holy Land to report."

The other two nodded in agreement, and the three turned and left.

...

[Achievement unlocked: "Buster Call Interrupter" — 3 achievement points]

After leaving Sabaody Archipelago, the system kept beeping, reminding Eric .

It also informed him that Akainu had not died but had been rescued. This guy certainly had a strong will to survive.

The system also informed Eric that the temporary mission had been completed.

If he had known that sinking a few ships would give him some bond points, he would have sunk the remaining Navy ships as well.

Though thinking this, the last remaining intact Navy warship suddenly appeared between the Fearless Eternity and the five remaining Navy ships, with the hero Garp standing at the bow.

As soon as Eric saw Garp , he immediately gave the order to escape.

However, Garp 's warship did not pursue them; instead, it went to rescue the sailors who had fallen into the sea. Due to the large number of sailors rescued, the deck was soon filled with dripping wet sailors.

...

Seeing that there was no opportunity left to cover up or recover the situation, the World Government and Navy Headquarters ceased the Buster Call and did not continue their attempt to destroy Sabaody Archipelago in order to erase the evidence.

Akainu was lucky enough to fall onto a floating tree root, half-submerged in the sea, where he was later found and rescued by the Navy.

Meanwhile, the Navy soldiers who had been stunned by Esdeath's Conqueror's Haki and later caught in Eric 's RaiKing Thunder had, surprisingly, survived. The physical fitness of people in this pirate world was truly incredible.

However, after the battle, Sengoku angrily scolded Garp for slacking off, and later, Sengoku himself was scolded by the Five Elder Stars in a phone call for his failure in the operation.

Layer upon layer of scolding, no one escaped.

After the unprecedented and catastrophic event, the number of visits to Sabaody Archipelago by the Celestial Dragons drastically decreased, as they feared encountering another madman who would kill them.

Pressure was also put on Navy Headquarters, urging them to capture Darin Eric , the one who killed a Celestial Dragon, and Esdeath, who had brutally tortured the Celestial Dragons, or they would no longer be safe even in their own backyard.

Marshal Sengoku visited Akainu in the hospital, where he learned about the five pirates who fought against him.

The World Government also revised the bounty for each member of Eric 's pirate crew.

The new bounty posters were sent to the world, along with the latest edition of the World Economic Journal, which featured heavy news: the murder of a Celestial Dragon, the battle between Akainu and Eric 's pirate crew, and the interruption of the Buster Call by Eric 's crew.

Of course, there were also some extra special editions published by Morgans, making him a considerable profit.

[Achievement unlocked: "Total Bounty of the Pirate Crew Over 1 Billion" — 4 achievement points]

[Achievement unlocked: "Renowned Worldwide (Infamy)" — 3 achievement points]

Even though Eric hadn't received the latest edition of the newspaper yet, he had already received various notifications from the system.

He also anxiously wondered just how much his bounty would rise. It was truly something to look forward to.

"Hey, Shaki, you guys haven't been attacked again, right?"

"No, little Eric -chan, we're all fine. Thanks to you, Sabaody Archipelago has been saved from the Buster Call's destruction."

"Sigh, if I hadn't killed the Celestial Dragon, the World Government probably wouldn't have launched the Buster Call. This is my responsibility, I have to take responsibility and make sure to protect Sabaody Archipelago."

"Hahaha, living freely and doing whatever you want is what being a true pirate is about! So, little Eric , what's your next plan?"

"Hmmm… Let's rest for now. After such intense fighting, everyone is exhausted."

"Hmm~ but it's strange that the World Government didn't continue the Buster Call to destroy Sabaody Archipelago. Could it be that they can't cover up the truth anymore? It's likely that they'll make a big move against you guys. The CP0, the direct agency of the Celestial Dragons, might have already been deployed. You need to be careful."

"Thanks, Shaki."

"By the way, the things you've done are already on the newspapers. The new bounty posters are out, and the amount is staggering. Be careful of those well-known and powerful bounty hunters."

"Really? How much? After our fight with Akainu, will those people still dare to trouble us?"

"Hehe, little Eric , you should check the newspaper yourself. There will definitely be a surprise. And never underestimate people's greed. Even the small fries will try to ambush a bounty criminal with a bounty over a billion, hoping to get rich overnight and gain fame."

"OK, I got it."

...

Two days after the battle with Akainu, after continuous high-speed cruising, they had already left Navy Headquarters far behind.

At the moment, in the restaurant.

Dozens of freed slaves sat at the dining table.

"Although we'll be cruising through the four seas next, you all know what we've done. We killed a Celestial Dragon in front of the world, becoming the number one criminals, and now you're all on my ship."

"Even if you don't become pirates, some people might be targeted by the World Government because they've been on my ship, so I can't keep taking you all around the seas. It will only increase the risk of exposure."

"Do you want to disembark at the next island in the Grand Line, or do you want to go with us to the quieter East Blue? Think carefully before making your decision."

After saying this, Eric turned and left.

The freed people looked at each other in confusion.

...

A man with red hair and only one right arm stood at the ship's railing, smiling as he fed a dried fish to the news bird perched there.

The news bird took the fish, chirped happily, thanked him, and then flew off to its next destination.

"Oh?" The redhead opened the newspaper, surprised, "Huh."

Latzir, still in his usual green striped clothes, with his belly exposed beneath the ill-fitting outfit, tore off a piece of meat and mumbled, "Boss, what's up? Why so surprised?"

"There's a new pirate crew that killed a Celestial Dragon in Sabaody Archipelago."

"What?" Those around them gasped in surprise.

Ben Beckman, holding a cigarette, calmly asked, "Did the admiral mobilize?"

"Yeah, and it doesn't end there," the redhead grinned widely, "Eric 's crew had a showdown with Akainu, managed to escape, and Akainu was later found by the Navy."

"The escaping Eric crew then stopped another Buster Call."

The atmosphere paused, and a loud shout of "Nani?!" echoed from the redhead's ship.

The newspaper he was looking at had an article titled "The Fourth Strongest Emperor of the Sea Contender — Darin Eric !"

"The fourth Emperor of the Sea, huh…"

"The Grand Line is about to stir again…"
