Chapter 37 - Chapter 37 - I Will Avenge You

Larry Martin seemed to have guessed something, and despite the pain in his arm, exclaimed, "Old Dennis, do you mean... the stuff on this newspaper is extraordinary?"

Dennis Williams realized his gaffe, quickly let go of his grip, cleared his throat, and explained:

"Extraordinary? It's not just extraordinary! It's practically divine! Stephanie and I have been cultivating using the Seven Suns mental method, which I stumbled upon in my youth, but it was an incomplete technique. Later, I met a Grandmaster and paid a hefty sum to perfect it, which turned it into the technique we have now. But the more I practice it, the more problems I discover! It even affects my internal organs!"

As soon as he said this, not only was Larry Martin shocked, but Stephanie Martin' face also turned pale.

She had been feeling an inexplicable discomfort during her training these past days, but couldn't pinpoint it.

Could it be the backlash from this incomplete cultivation technique?

Dennis Williams glanced at Stephanie Martin to comfort her, saying, "Stephanie, you don't need to worry, you're young and your cultivation isn't deep, so this mental method doesn't affect you much, but for me, it's troublesome. I only have two paths: continue practicing until my internal organs fail, or abandon my cultivation altogether."

Hearing this, Larry Martin and Stephanie Martin became even more frightened.

They knew Dennis Williams's strength, and while he wasn't a Grandmaster, he was enough to protect the Martin family in Brooksdale.

If something were to happen to Dennis Williams, it would surely affect the Martin family too!

Larry Martin grew suspicious, "Does this recent breakthrough mean your body is in even more danger?"

At this moment, Dennis Williams burst into laughter!

"On the contrary, my body is not only not in danger but has become stronger!"

"What!" The grandfather and granddaughter became more confused.

Dennis Williams carefully raised the newspaper in his hand and explained, "Where is that Grandmaster who left this newspaper now? He not only truly perfected the Seven Suns mental method but also modified its circulation route! Practicing according to his method solves all previous problems, and the cultivation speed will be significantly faster! It's practically divine inspiration! Only a Grandmaster could achieve this!"

Towards the end, Dennis Williams was almost shouting.

Larry Martin felt truly shocked upon hearing this; his understanding of martial arts was only superficial. Previously, when David Johnson faced Stephanie, it seemed like he was a Martial Arts Grandmaster, but now, Dennis Williams said it out loud, and that was different!

What's more terrifying is, on that day, David didn't even see Stephanie Martin make a move, yet he could deduce the circulation route and formulas of the Seven Suns mental method?

This is simply incredible!

Stephanie Martin was equally stunned, her master's tall image shattered completely, replaced by David Johnson's aloof presence.

She always thought David Johnson was a jerk! But now this jerk has transformed into a peak to admire!

How is that possible?

How could this jerk be a Martial Arts Grandmaster!

But even if she refused to admit it, David Johnson's presence was destined to become a deep imprint on her martial arts path.

...

The Grandview Apartments.

As I entered my home, I smelled the aroma of food. Soon I discovered Sarah Moore busy in the kitchen, her swaying figure and the proportion of her slender waist and hips were simply exaggerated to the extreme.

"She's got the figure, the looks, and is a fantastic cook too. Such a woman must be considered top-grade."

I came to the dining area and saw that several dishes were already set on the table.

Unable to resist, I snuck a pair of chopsticks to start snacking, but was soon caught by Sarah Moore as she emerged from the kitchen with a bowl of soup.

"You sneaky thing, immediately start snacking once you get home, have you paid for meals? And, where did you go early in the morning? I searched the whole block and couldn't find you."

I licked my chopsticks, grinning, "Wasn't I busy working? I did, after all, make nearly a billion in the morning."

Sarah Moore rolled her eyes at me, having long been accustomed to my exaggerated boastful talents.

"Yeah right, do you think you're Frank Powell, setting small goals on a whim, making a billion, huh? If you could make a thousand bucks in the morning, I'd be impressed. Anyway, let's stop babbling and eat."

I didn't bother to explain further and began devouring Sarah Moore' delicious food.

After a while, Sarah Moore remembered something and said to me, "Martinez't wait for me tomorrow evening, I might have some business to deal with."

I didn't think much of it and nodded.

As I was almost done eating, Sarah Moore' phone rang. I glanced over, seeing it was a call from Sarah Moore' father.

"I'm taking this call."

Sarah Moore grabbed the phone and headed to the balcony.

A minute later, Sarah Moore hurriedly rushed over, grabbing her jacket and car keys, and dashed out the door.

"Martinez't wait for me tonight either, I have to go back home for something!"

With that, Sarah Moore disappeared from my sight.

I stood up, frowning. Although I wanted to follow, I thought of the herbal delivery and decided against it.

Moreover, the call was from family, so it must be Sarah Moore' personal matter, and as an outsider, it would be inappropriate for me to intervene.

...

At 2:50 in the afternoon.

I followed the address on the key to the property Samuel Thompson had gifted me.

I originally thought Samuel Thompson's gift would be an ordinary hundred-square-meter apartment, but I never expected it to be the top luxury residence next to The Grandview Apartments, The Celestial Tower!

And it wasn't just a simple hundred square meters! It was a whole floor!

Nearly a thousand square meters!

Moreover, it was in the best penthouse position!

What does this mean!

Even I didn't know how to express it.

The Celestial Tower is every Brooksdale resident's dream.

I vaguely remembered, a few days ago, when Sarah Moore and I drove past The Celestial Tower, Sarah Moore had sighed, "How great would it be to live here, even just for one night, I'd be satisfied. But I can only dream of it; with my salary, I won't be able to afford a place here in this lifetime."

At the time, I had joked that when I had money, I'd buy her one.

Little did I expect, that such a house would come so quickly.

I opened the door, and although I knew the interior would be luxurious, I was still astounded upon entering.

Lavishly grand, with a small temperature-controlled swimming pool, entirely marble-constructed; even the kitchen alone was nearly 90 square meters.

"Having money really allows for such indulgence."

I stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, almost able to overlook the whole city of Brooksdale.

I saw The Grandview Apartments filled with laughter with Sarah Moore.

I saw the Johnson Family's mansion that had once prospered and then declined.

I saw the Mistwood Manor, akin to a nightmare five years ago.

I saw Blackridge Mountain where my parents' remains were buried.

I clenched my fists, a terrifying aura surging from my body.

This was the aura condensed from countless life-and-death experiences over five years!

"Tomorrow is the anniversary of my parents' death; it's time to visit them."

"Mom, Dad, I will avenge you, I'm no longer the cowardly David Johnson of five years ago; I crawled out from death, blossomed in the dark, and I will personally bring that man's head to your graves...

I, David Johnson, will one day make Brooksdale tremble, make The Lands of Eldoria bow down!"
