Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Into the Red Fang’s Lair

"If you're coming along, you can't go without a weapon."

Anby quickly walked back to her room, took out a long saber, and handed it to Su Chen.

The blade was 150 centimeters long, the hilt 20 centimeters, a truly beautiful two-handed straight saber.

Su Chen took the long saber, drew it from its scabbard, and admired it carefully.

The blade shimmered with a cold light, and the body of the saber had patterns like radiating lightning, with blue-purple electric sparks occasionally leaping across it.

"This is a trophy from before; it seems to be called Thunderstrike Blade or something like that. Its power is quite good."

Anby looked at the straight saber, a reminiscent expression flashing in her eyes.

"It is indeed a good saber."

Su Chen sighed, carefully hanging it at his waist.

Anby's origin was mysterious; she seemed to be an instructor from a certain secret unit of the Defense Force.

A trophy she would keep would not be an ordinary item.

In Su Chen's estimation, this saber, in the system's rating, was probably not far from a blue evaluation.

Moreover, this was the first gift he had received since coming to this world, making it worthy of his careful treatment.

"Anby, why haven't I seen you take out this saber before?"

Nicole looked at the straight saber, the shape of Dennies appearing in her eyes.

Such a beautiful saber, if sold, would surely fetch a good amount of Dennies.

"I couldn't bear to."

Anby glanced at Nicole, then turned her head away.

This weapon was extremely precious in her eyes as well; she couldn't bear to sell it unless she was at her wit's end.

Even though she had a large appetite and loved good food, she didn't want to sell this saber.

Handing it over to Su Chen now could be considered giving the saber a home.

"I will make good use of it."

Su Chen caressed Thunderstrike Blade, hanging it on the side further away from Nicole.

Seeing Su Chen's action, Nicole pouted and said discontentedly, "What do you mean by that? I'm not a boss who covets my subordinates' weapons!"

"Of course, I know."

Su Chen showed a mysterious smile, making it hard to discern his thoughts.

"Anby gave Su Chen a saber, so I'll give Su Chen a gun."

Billy somewhat reluctantly unholstered a pistol from his waist and handed it to Su Chen, clearly unwilling to part with it.

"A gun is a man's companion; you must treat it well!"

Looking at Billy's expression, Su Chen found it both funny and frustrating; if he really took it, Billy would probably be so sad he'd leak engine oil.

"You should keep this yourself." Su Chen swiped his hands at his waist, and Twin Ether Blasters appeared in his hands. "I have my own companions, and they are a pair of beautiful sisters."

"Wow!" Billy exclaimed, looking at the two pistols, one black and one white. "Starlight Knight above, they are simply beautiful! Brother, you truly have taste!"

"Of course."

Su Chen tucked them into his waist, not returning them to his system space.

The system space was very useful, but it could only store items produced by the system, which made it a bit of a mixed blessing.

It seemed he had quite a secret about him, but who cared!

Nicole gave Su Chen a meaningful glance but did not delve deeper.

In short, Cunning Rabbit House didn't keep idlers; everyone had their secrets.

"Since the weapons are ready, it's time for us to set off." Nicole was full of energy: "Let's complete the commission as quickly as possible and get that generous reward!"

"Mission accomplished, Nicole Boss!"

Billy made a triumphant V-sign.

"Don't worry, Nicole." * 2

Su Chen and Anby replied simultaneously.

Nicole glanced at Su Chen and pouted.

Seriously, he had already learned bad habits from Anby in just one day, and he didn't even call her 'Nicole Boss'.

...

Fourteenth Street, inside a dilapidated tall building.

"Kyle, do you feel a chill down your spine?"

The patrolling minion shrunk his neck, a little scared.

"It's the middle of the night, don't scare people randomly!"

Kyle's scalp tingled, and his legs were trembling slightly.

He shone his flashlight around; the corridor was silent, with only a Bangboo statue that looked like it was defecating.

The two felt a hint of eeriness and quickened their steps to leave.

"Phew, finally they're gone. The security here is getting tighter and tighter."

Nicole patted her ample chest, letting out a sigh of relief.

Walking all the way here, they had seen over a dozen different patrol teams, and the sentry posts were incredibly dense.

If it weren't for the Red Tooth Gang minions' poor quality, they would have been discovered by such tight security long ago.

"The tighter the guard, the closer we are to our target, meaning we're going in the right direction."

Anby's expression was calm, showing no sign of tension.

For her, having seen much of the world, saying it was a small matter would be too arrogant; it was probably a medium matter.

"You're right." Nicole nodded in agreement, then gave Su Chen a thumbs-up: "To do this well on your first time stealing with us, you're a natural thief!"

Su Chen's performance just now could be described as senior-level infiltration, and he had even warned them several times.

She had originally thought Su Chen would need more care, but she hadn't expected him to be so reliable.

"Thank you for the compliment." Su Chen was a bit helpless: "If you replaced 'thief' with 'agent', I think I'd be happier."

"Cough, cough, next time for sure." Nicole awkwardly stuck out her tongue, then her expression turned serious: "The room ahead is probably where the safe is kept; we need to divide tasks."

"Billy, Anby, you two go in and retrieve the item, while Su Chen and I stand guard outside!"

The room that looked like the safe's storage point was empty around it, and there were four guards at the entrance.

Any commotion would surely attract a large number of Red Tooth Gang members.

Two people going in to get the item and two standing guard outside for support was a good plan.

"Received." * 3

Su Chen, Anby, and Billy replied in unison.

Even the usually erratic Billy was serious at this moment.

Billy and Anby darted out from the corner like leopards; the four guards had no time to react and fell directly to the ground.

Anby and Billy gave an 'ok' gesture towards Nicole and Su Chen, then entered the room.

"The plan is going smoothly; it seems the infamous Red Tooth Gang isn't all that great!"

Seeing everything proceed smoothly, Nicole couldn't help but beam with delight.

"Perhaps." Su Chen didn't agree with Nicole's statement. "I just feel it won't be that smooth."

In the opening CG, although Nicole and the others obtained the safe, they were pursued quite miserably by the Red Tooth Gang.

If the plan went smoothly, they should have been able to exit safely.

"Jinx, I'm going to dock your pay!"

Nicole glared at Su Chen discontentedly.

Couldn't this guy think of something good for once?

Su Chen embraced Nicole face-to-face, pressing her against the wall.

Feeling the overwhelming masculine scent and the large, bouncy chest almost pressed out of shape, Nicole instinctively wanted to struggle.

Even if he was thirsty, he shouldn't show it at a time like this!

Nicole's pretty face turned crimson as she struggled in Su Chen's arms.

"Shh, someone's coming!"

Su Chen whispered softly into Nicole's ear.

Nicole stopped struggling and remained silent. Although Su Chen savored the soft feeling, he also released Nicole in time and pointed in a direction.

She widened her eyes, looking in the direction Su Chen pointed.

A sinister young man with white hair on his head was walking quickly towards them, reprimanding his subordinates while leading dozens of minions.

"Damn it, you don't even know when a bug gets in, a bunch of good-for-nothings!"

The minions were scolded mercilessly but dared not complain.

Seeing the Red Tooth Gang's reaction, Nicole immediately knew they had been exposed.

"Are Anby and the others not ready yet?"

Su Chen asked Nicole.

It had been a few minutes since Anby infiltrated; taking a box shouldn't be that slow.

"No, the safe is locked inside another safe, and they are in the process of forcing it open."

Nicole glanced at the message Anby sent, her expression a bit grim.

It was probably Anby and Billy's actions inside the room that alerted the Red Tooth Gang.

"Then we'll have to hold these people off and buy them some time."

Su Chen sighed, calmly pulling out his Twin Ether Blasters.

He had originally planned for a peaceful infiltration, but now he could only demonstrate his true stealth skills.

"I know."

Nicole gripped her transforming briefcase weapon, shielding Su Chen behind her.

What good were those two small pistols? She was the one they had to rely on.
