Chapter 3 - Garp's Challenge, Innate Fighter

"Kid, did you do all of this?"

A boisterous voice sounded from the sky.

Renji was a bit surprised. Were there still some who slipped through the net?

The figure gradually became clear. Before he could even see clearly, Renji, through the powerful perception of his Heavenly Six Eyes, clearly sensed that the newcomer's strength seemed not to be underestimated.

The check-in matter could wait.

But Renji was startled to find that the old man bouncing in the sky looked a bit familiar.

"Isn't this... Marine Hero Garp?"

Why was he here?

"Oh? Kid, you actually know me?" Garp laughed heartily and landed on the ground, his gaze fixed on Renji.

Along this path, dozens of pirate corpses were found, and most of them were armed. From the current situation, it seemed that this little brat alone had dealt with them all?!

If that was truly the case, then Garp wouldn't want to miss out on such a talent.

"Renji! Cough, cough! It's great that you're okay!"

An excited Reiko coughed a few times and ran towards Renji, but perhaps because she had been too tense, she almost collapsed after only two steps.

Renji, who possessed 360-degree perception, noticed this and instantly teleported to support Reiko. Reiko also took the opportunity to fall into his arms.

Renji, who had just finished smashing people, felt a slight tremor in his heart as he came into contact with this unusual softness.

Holding the unconscious Reiko, he couldn't help but sigh.

She's grown again.

"Renji, it's so good that you're okay. Thank you so much just now. I don't even know how to repay you."

Miruko, standing nearby, had tears in her eyes. If Renji hadn't arrived in time, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

Renji turned to Miruko and smiled softly. "It's nothing. You took me in. I've always been looking for an opportunity to repay the kindness you showed me before."

His smile appeared extremely warm and pure in Miruko's eyes. She gazed at him in a daze, then realized that Renji's pupils were as azure as the clear sky and ocean, drawing her into them.

This scene, however, startled Garp.

The speed this kid just burst out with...

Even the Soru used by some Rear Admirals in the headquarters couldn't compare.

What exactly was the deal with this kid?!

And looking at the situation, it was definitely this kid who dealt with these pirates.

No, he has to quickly find a way to bring him into the Marine.

He took down so many pirates alone, and he was so young. Although he hadn't displayed the monstrous level of performance like Aokiji or Akainu, with systematic training, becoming a Vice Admiral-level figure in the future wouldn't be a big problem.

After all, not everyone could reach the kevel of an Admiral, who could destroy cities, and wipe out nations. That required extremely terrifying talent.

Someone of Vice Admiral-level was already an extremely powerful existence on this vast sea.

Not long after, Bogard arrived to handle the aftermath of the battle.

Garp's mind spun rapidly. After thinking for a long time, he awkwardly scratched his head and said, "Ah, that... Haha! Kid, what's your name?"

Renji found Garp's appearance somewhat amusing.

"Garp-san, my name is Renji."

"How old are you this year?"

"Eighteen."

"Are you married?"

"?"

"...Ah, haha, kid, I see that your talent is extraordinary. Currently, the sea... pirates are rampant, and it's precisely when the Marine needs people..." Garp said with a serious expression.

This was the most eloquent thing he could say, having exhausted all his lifelong knowledge.

Just as the two were having an awkward conversation, Bogard came over.

"Vice Admiral Garp! The battlefield has been cleared. This group of pirates is the Kurone Pirate Crew, active for the past two years. Captain Kurone has a bounty of 17 million Berries."

After speaking, Bogard scrutinized Renji from head to toe, a look of surprise in his eyes.

Another little monster emerged from the East Blue?

A bounty of 17 million Berries, before entering the Grand Line, was considered a dominant force in the East Blue.

And such a pirate was dealt with by this kid alone, and he seemed to only have torn clothes, completing it without injury.

No wonder even Garp was interested in recruiting him.

"Most of these pirates died from impacts and severe internal injuries."

Bogard's words made Garp's eyes light up slightly. Impacts and severe internal injuries, didn't that mean it was his favorite hand-to-hand combat?

Back then, he forged the reputation of a Marine Hero with his Haki-infused iron fists.

Although he himself didn't care about that title, this kid liked practicing punches just like him.

This young man had a future!

With this thought, Garp's eyes looking at Renji grew even brighter.

"However..." Bogard paused, his gaze towards Renji becoming sharp.

"Captain Kurone's right arm was severed. From the wound, it appears to have been cut by a sharp slash just now."

Garp, hearing this, merely picked his nose. Being proficient in physical techniques, he clearly had no interest in swordsmanship.

"That's right, I cut it." Renji calmly admitted.

Bogard, hearing this, immediately became interested, his tone becoming eager. "I observe the wound to be quite smooth and clean. I presume your swordsmanship has reached the level of a Sword Master."

Renji hesitated slightly. He really didn't know if that counted.

"Probably. I'm not quite sure what counts as a Sword Master."

Garp interrupted, "Haha, enough with the nonsense. I'm itching for a fight today, kid. Do you want to spar with me?!"

Garp, standing by, could no longer hold back. He was ready to personally witness Renji's strength and, incidentally, guide him during the battle. This way, he would also have an excuse to recruit Renji into the Marine.

Those little monsters in the past were always unruly. After a good beating, they became much more obedient.

I really am a genius, to have thought of such a clever method.

Garp rubbed his fists, and the more he thought about it, the more feasible this method seemed.

If he had known this, why bother with finding the right words?

It was a waste of brain cells. Just go straight into it.

Oh no, he shouldn't have any brain cells to begin with.

If Bogard, who was standing nearby, heard Garp's inner thoughts, he would surely roll his eyes.

Are you sure you haven't just driven away all the geniuses?

People join the Marine perfectly fine, and you carry them out on two stretchers. Is that appropriate?

People who don't know would think the Marine are some kind of fierce devils.

"Alright, it's my pleasure." Renji grinned upon hearing this.

He wanted to know how big the gap was between him and the top powerhouses on this vast sea.
