Chapter 8 - A god

Ahha..a loud scream that was accompanied by sudden silence, Eira who laid on the pallet, had an iron sword driven through her heart in sleep, she now fell into a deeper slumber drawing her last breath, Agony and disbelief were frozen in her eyes.

Who would have thought such a stunning elf with her beautiful short platinum hair and violet eyes that were capable of igniting a spark in the hearts of men,her hypnotic beauty that could inspire envy In the eyes of gods.even such beauty could not save her from Osric's blade who killed her without hesitation, ending her life in seconds.

"What is wrong with you was that necessary?," Aurion asked

Osric pulled his sword out her chest,he had cold expression on his face,"it was necessary the future of this happening was not far anyway though my goal is no to harvest her life,I will now resurrect her to truly make my loyal subordinate", Osric replied his deep echoed in the cave.

"She was already worshiping you, just say you wanted to use her as your Guinea pig"said Aurion.

She was worshiping what she thought was a celestial spirit which is you not me,it doesn't matter either way now she will be a pawn I trust, it's better this way, Osric said.

"Ce-le-stial spirit.. how the hell did you know that," Aurion asked with a shocked voice.

"Really, now I would be a fool to believe that after a war between races three thousand years ago, one of the surviving descendants of the fairy who despised humans would simply betray her nation that survived unseen by the surface world, just to serve a mountain spirit to such a degree.

It's known that elves work with spirits and hold them in high regard, but for her to do all she did for a cave spirit is ridiculous," Osric said.

"With just that you decide that I am celestial spirit how arrogant who do you think are?," Aurion asked

"Calm yourself noble spirit like you said we are now one but now you are treating me like an alien in my own temple,I won't insist on this matter but it would have been nice to know that I was carrying a god in my body." Osric said

The silence carried on between the two,it was already time for another phase. Osric stood before Eira 's corpse, she'd been dead for a few minutes. Osric raised his gaze down at her body and chants the blasphemous demonic spell he memorized.

After he chanted a dark purple demonic energy burst forth from the corpse enveloping the surroundings in a thick fog, The energy swirled clockwise , the fog surges into Osric's outstretched hand and vanished as suddenly as it appeared."huh what's going did it not work?,"Osric asked in confusion.

"I wouldn't be surprised," said Aurion

"What's that supposed to mean..," but before he could finish, Eira's eyes snapped open, and she jolted upright with a sudden violent movement.

Osric was caught off guard, and he tumbled backward, landing on his butt with a shocked expression. "That scared the sh*t out of me!" he exclaimed.

Osric's eyes widened as Eira's gaze locked onto his, her eyes blazing with an otherworldly intensity. "What...what happened?" Eira's voice was low unlike her usual melodic tone. Her eyes flashing with confusion. She raised her hand, staring at it as if it belonged to someone else and inspecting her entire body.

"It worked?" Osric asked, still seated on the floor, with wariness in his voice.

Eira's gaze snapped back to Osric,"Osric!!" She screamed his name, suddenly launching herself at him with deadly intent.

But before she could reach him, a curse mark appeared on her forehead, a twisted serpent coiled in darkness, its body seeming to shift like a living thing. Eira screamed in pain, thrashing against the magical restraints becoming immobilized.

Osric stood up, his eyes locked onto Eira's as he said, "Did you forget? I just brought you back to life. I'm your master, which means you cannot harm me." The curse mark released its hold, and Eira slowly got to her feet, the serpent's coils pulsing with dark energy vanished.

"Bone of bones, flesh of my flesh" let's try to get along now shall we, said Osric with an awkward smile.

"Tch.." Eira, who was pissed off, went and laid on the futon, turning her back on Osric.

Aurion asked "Osric what's wrong"Osric fainted and fell on the ground, hours passed Osric opens his eyes wondering what happened he sat upright and saw that he laid in a futon.but no sign of Eira, Osric felt extremely weak from hunger and struggled to pick himself up.

"Aurion don't be alarmed it should be clear now she put you on that pallet after you suddenly passed out," said Aurion.

"What happened to me I was fine then,"

said Osric.

"Fine?, only you who is an idiot try such a spell with a less than average mana, not to mention you haven't eaten anything for the past eight days. Look how your fragile body is trembling, said Aurion with a frustrated voice.

"Where is Eira, it would stupid to say she ran away right,I don't believe the curse mark would let her betray me if she intended to sell me out," said Osric worried.

"You think about no one but yourself, you selfish bastard," said Eira who emerged from the passage carrying a basket with food that Osric knew well.she knelt next to him handing a white bowl of porridge to him."Osric spoke joking its not poisoned right?,"

Eira glaring at him with a cold expression, the awkward moment between the two intensified, Osric struggled to eat his weak hand vibrating, spilling the food on the spoon.

Seeing his pathetic state, Eira's expression softened slightly. She took the bowl and spoon from Osric's hands, her movements gentle yet firm, and began to feed him. The atmosphere between them grew more intimate, the silence dragged only by the soft clinking sound of the spoon against the bowl.

The air around me became more awkward. Eira's glare softened slightly as she scooped up a spoonful of porridge and brought it to Osric's lips.

He opened his mouth, his eyes locking onto hers, and for a moment, the tension between them seemed to dissipate. But as he struggled to swallow, Eira's expression hardened again, her gaze dropping to the bowl as she continued to feed him.The silence between them was oppressive.

"Don't get ahead of yourself I'm only doing this because of the spirit, know this I'll set the spirit free and there after I'll do all I can to kill you, you have my word," Said Eira making a vow

Oh so now you believe that I imprisoned the spirit. Surely I can't be that bad believe it or not our noble spirit Aurion chose on me on his own, said Osric.

Eira ignored him, everytime he tried to talk she shoved a spoon full of porridge in his mouth silencing him,an hour passed Osric broke the silence and asked "Eira bringing food meant you returned from Asdrath,it seems they still don't know it was you who broke in Cachot Noir military prison but what about your job I don't want you to be traced back here"

Eira replied, "I applied for a temporary leave before going to Cachot Noir as long as I lay low for a while it will blow over, aren't you shameless asking me all of this after what you've done."

Osric smirked and said,"oh please Eira do you think I don't know that you have known that i was not the spirit all along, you not as simple as you look, you almost fooled me."

"whatever it doesn't change anything, what are planning to do now dwell in this cave all your life"Eira asked

Osric replied "I'm glad you're asked now that I've replenished my energy staying in this cave any longer would be foolish, your fellow brethren she surely will track down the Cachot Noir thief eventually since you failed to hide your presence so it's time we pack up leave.

As for you Eira my loyal subordinate I know you risked everything because of Aurion the spirit,so your goal is simple, I can tell you still co operating for his sake so you'll be serving both your masters at same time, two birds with one stone eh!."

"Eira very annoyed by his remarks she responded,"how do you plan on leaving this place, like I said before going through the passage here no possible, the moment you step outside Asdrath magic defenses designed to detect any demonic beasts and foreign races no matter the distance inside and outside the city."

"No, wait how did you get here to begin with," Eira asked, her curiosity piqued.

Osric gestured towards the pond, "Look up there, that opening leads to the surface. We have to climb up and exit through a narrow passage above that will lead to the dark forest."

" Huh..a fragile body like yours and you going to forest, have you lost it human," Eira asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Time is not on my side, besides I need the dark forest to help me grow stronger. I'm sure you know what mean," Osric replied.

(He referring to her resurrection)

Without another word, Osric told Eira, "Shall we?" They packed their belongings and began their ascent. Osric struggled, his weakened body straining with each step. Eira left him behind, her breathing steady as she climbed. The illuminated cave gave way into darkness as they ascended higher and higher, Osric's struggles grew more.

As he faltered, Eira stuck ice daggers into the wall, using them as makeshift handholds to help Osric climb. Lord Osric's strength was shrinking and it seemed he might not survive the descent if he fell this time.

Just as it seemed like he was about to faint, Eira, who had already reached the top, attached a magic chain made of ice and pulled him up, saving him from certain doom.

"How thoughtful I was about to call her to help me but this is better,"Osric thought to himself,"bone of my bones to think you cared about me.."

"Shut up", Eira interrupted annoyed by his teasing

"What a burden" Eira said

That's not nice what vile mouth you have said Osric.

Aurion spoke,"You two seem to be getting along". "I wonder"Osric replied

"Are you talking to Lord Aurion,"Eira asked.

"Oh my I forgot and talked aloud out of habit, indeed I'm talking to him but why are you calling him Lord and disrespecting me what discrimination." said Osric

Eira was curious to inquire more about Aurion but the mediator was her mortal enemy, a human she despised not because of history but her recent experience.

Upon reaching the top before them was the narrow passage,a small tunnel Osric squeezed himself through running for his life escaping the venomous flames.they rested for an hour before they continue on their journey outside so that Osric recovers his energy they now prepare to venture in the dark forest.

"Oh Eria my loyal subordinate I left out a very important detail, outside this cave entrance huh..you see there is colossal snake that's spits venomous flames outside here is valley or rather it's nest." said Osric

Whaat?!..
