Chapter 119 - Chapter 118: Unreasonable

Noah tried to scramble back toward his wheelchair, but a pair of strong, stubborn arms clamped firmly around his waist, dragging him right back down onto the bed.

Noah's face flared a brilliant shade of crimson, and he turned to glare at Adam, who looked entirely too pleased with himself.

​"Adam, what on earth do you think you're doing?" Noah hissed, his voice pitched in a mix of irritation and sheer mortification.

​Ignoring the man beneath him for a second, Noah turned a panicked gaze toward Xavier, his hands waving in the air as if he could physically brush away the scandalous image they had just projected.

"Little brother-in-law, please, it's not what you think at all! It's not like that!"

​Xavier didn't look convinced in the slightest.

He leaned against the doorframe, crossing his arms with a casual shrug that only made Noah's anxiety spike. "You really don't have to lie to me, Noah," Xavier said, his voice dripping with an amused, knowing tone.
