Chapter 2 - [2]: The Proper Use of the Rinnegan

The sea stretched endlessly around him, a calm expanse of blue beneath the rising sun. Kane Uchiha guided his small wooden boat through the gentle waves, the soft creak of the hull blending with the cries of seabirds circling above.

He had long grown used to solitude. Out here, the only sound that accompanied him was the ocean's steady rhythm something peaceful, almost meditative. Today, however, he wasn't here to reflect. He was here to work.

After steering his boat toward a spot known for its abundant fish, Kane cast a wide fishing net into the waters. With his task done, he leaned back against the side of the boat, closing his eyes for a brief rest as the waves rocked him gently.

The seas of the One Piece world were incredibly rich. It didn't take long before the boat began to shake, the wooden frame groaning under the weight tugging at the net.

Kane opened his eyes and smiled faintly. "Looks like the ocean's being generous today."

He grasped the thick rope of the net with one hand and gave it a light pull. The muscles in his arm tensed, and with seemingly little effort, he hoisted up a net bursting with fish and shrimp, their scales flashing silver in the sunlight as they thrashed about wildly.

Kane formed a single hand seal and muttered, "Lightning Release: New Energy Fishing Net Technique."

Sparks of electricity crackled from his palm, spreading across the net in a web of dazzling blue arcs. The charge wasn't strong enough to harm the catch it merely stunned them. In an instant, the struggling fish went still, twitching faintly before falling quiet.

He nodded in satisfaction. "Good haul."

Just as he was about to haul the net in and head home, the sea beneath him surged violently. A massive shadow moved under the water, and moments later, a colossal head burst from the depths, sending waves crashing against the small boat.

The creature was enormous a giant sea serpent, its scaly body stretching dozens of meters long. Two crimson eyes glowed with hunger as it fixed its gaze on Kane and his wriggling catch.

Kane looked up, his expression unreadable. "A Sea King? Don't tell me it's the only one in this area."

In the East Blue known to be the weakest of the four seas Sea Kings were rare, especially in such remote waters. But rare or not, this one had clearly found its meal.

Unfortunately for the creature, Kane didn't share its excitement. To him, it was just a large fish impressive in size, yes, but hardly worth awe. After all, he had once witnessed the destructive might of the tailed beasts back in the ninja world. Compared to them, even the largest Sea King was little more than a curiosity.

He raised his gaze to meet the monster's. "I suppose you'll do. It's been a while since I tested these eyes of mine."

The Sea King opened its jaws, ready to devour both man and boat. But the instant its gaze met Kane's violet eyes, its body froze.

An overwhelming sense of dread swept through the creature's instincts a primal, suffocating terror. It tried to flee, but its body refused to move.

"Rinnegan: Illusion Technique."

An invisible wave of power rippled outward from Kane's eyes. The Sea King stiffened, its pupils dilating as its own eyes turned purple, marked with the same black concentric rings. A heartbeat later, the life within those eyes vanished.

Its enormous body fell limp, crashing into the sea with a thunderous splash before slowly sinking beneath the waves.

Kane sighed. "That's far more effective than Conqueror's Haki." He looked down at the massive carcass disappearing below the surface and frowned. "Still, it would be a waste to leave all that meat down there."

He raised his right hand. A swirling black vortex formed in his palm, distorting the air around it.

"Bansho Ten'in Universal Pull."

A surge of gravitational force erupted outward. The Sea King's corpse, easily weighing several tons, was ripped from the depths and drawn toward Kane's small boat as though the laws of nature had bent to his will.

The wooden vessel creaked dangerously as the massive body hovered behind it, suspended by an invisible force. Kane turned toward the distant island where he had set out from earlier and estimated the distance. His violet eyes glimmered.

"Shinra Tensei Almighty Push."

A pulse of pure repulsion exploded outward from him. The Sea King's body shot across the ocean like a cannonball, vanishing over the horizon.

Kane lowered his hand, exhaling softly. His Rinnegan pulsed once before the rings faded slightly, returning to their normal glow.

Unlike Nagato's borrowed eyes from the original Naruto world, Kane's Rinnegan was his own born from the perfect fusion of Uchiha and Senju power. It didn't drain his life force, nor did it impose unnatural limits. Every ability he used, from gravitational manipulation to chakra absorption, grew stronger in proportion to his stamina and chakra reserves.

And in this world, where even ordinary humans possessed monstrous endurance, his potential had no ceiling.

He smirked. "So this is what it means to live in a world of monsters. Not bad."

As the last ripples from his jutsu faded, Kane sat back down and wiped the sea spray from his face. The morning sun glistened over the endless waves, painting the world in gold.

"That should take care of supplies for a while," he said, stretching lazily. "Before marching to war, one must always prepare the provisions first."

He smiled faintly at his own words, the sea breeze carrying them away.

The small boat drifted onward, cutting through the quiet blue. Beneath that peaceful surface, something ancient stirred, as if the ocean itself had taken notice of the boy with violet eyes.

And for the first time in a long while, Kane Uchiha felt the familiar thrill of purpose returning to his blood.

The world was vast, unpredictable, and filled with power waiting to be claimed.

He intended to claim it all.
