The Kings stood silent, pondering on the words of the boy. Then the king with Cyan hair let out a short, surprised laugh. ''Well,'' he said, with a smile curling at the corner of his mouth, '' If you're that serious, then the only sensible thing to do is for us to introduce ourselves, don't you agree, brothers.''
They all nodded, the king with golden-blonde hair spoke first,'' I am Ingra,'' he said, his eyes burning faintly with a golden-red hue. ''King of the royal flame, bearer of the prime morale royal fire.''
The dark knight spoke next, his cloak of smoke curling on him. ''They call me Thalos, King of shadow Cavalry, wielder of prime morale Shadows March.''
The air crackled as Sparks of electricity formed around the 3rd King. He looked young, Eric's age mate, or two years older.
In a flash-zap!
The young king appeared right in front of Eric, a bright grin on his face, his whole body sparking with static electricity while holding a harp. ''Name's Raelion! Princely King of music, Thunder and lightning. Nice to meet you!''
Eric flinched back a little ''Y...yeah?.. Nice to meet you too.'' Honestly, Eric didn't know how to act, standing before him where four Kings, and one of them was acting like they'd just met at pre-school.
Finally, the last King, hadn't spoken since Eric arrived. When he spoke, the rest of the Kings kept silent and observed him in reverence, even the noisy one. His hair was soft pink with green fades at the tips. He wore his royal attire with a cloak made of Sakura flower petals, upon his head sat a golden crown, and his gaze was soft. Then he spoke.
'' I am Raymond Sakura, King of nature and trees, wielder of prime morale Sakura. It is an honour to meet you, young one.''
Eric felt a shift inside him about this King, his instincts telling him to respect who stood before him.
''We understand your worries, Eric.'' King Sakura said. '' We'll lend you our strength. After all, you are our vessel.''
He turned slightly toward the others ''Here's what we'll do. Raelion will accompany you in dealing with the calamity. His power best aligns with your current need.''
''Yeah'' gave a quick grin.
''What is with this guy?'' Eric thought.
'' Alright, young vessel, please step forward. Come before us.''
Eric hesitated at first, then slowly began walking. He climbed the steps and stood before them. The four kings watched him. Eric could feel power radiating from them. '' Is this the true power of morale?'' he thought.
,,Eric,'' Sakura continued '' Bow on one knee.''
He obeyed.
The four Kings approached. Together they placed their hands upon his head, and spoke their names one by one, their voices overlapping.
'' Raymond Sakura.''
'' Thalos.''
'' Ingra.''
''Raelion.''
A surge of power ripped through Eric's body. In the real world, his body shook violently on the bed, as a bright light burst out of his eyes and mouth.
Together: We Knight you with our Power, Dear Hero.
Finally silence.
Eric gasped awake. To his shock, he was standing a the very top of the Ranvier Mansion, the strong wind cutting across his face. '' Huh!!!....shit no no no noo!!, I don't do well with heights.'' A voice echoed inside his head afterwards.
''Eric, Hey Eric is Raelion, I'm inside you.''
Eric blinked, glancing around. So... now what? We need to get to the city.
Raelion: Close your eyes and concentrate, and call upon my power.
Eric nodded, and on the roof, he closed his eyes. Silence...Instantly.- Crash!!!-a monstrous bolt of lightning struck him. His hair flared up, shifting to a lightning yellow color while his eyes turned yellow. Electrical sparks danced around him.
He exhaled. And grinned. ''Nice.''
'' Now, how do I use this?'' he thought... with full force clapped his hands together.
CRACK!
A monstrous bold struck him, in an instant. When the light faded, the rooftop was empty. Eric was gone.
+++Back In the city (Iron wall)
The eastern wall was in chaos. The horde slammed against the wall, as more emerged from the forest depths. Their roars mixed with the sound of gunfire and a whir of turrets. Sparks flew, alarm wailed, and smoke filled the night air.
The city was tasked to make aware of the situation to anyone whose apartment was near the second wall to evacuate, police were tasked to station behind the wall with heroes in case the second wall ever fell.
''Reload! Reload! don't let them climb the wall!'' Guard number two shouted, his voice cracking over the noise. Bullets rained down on the horde, but it wasn't enough. More creatures crawled out from the forest- too many to count. The female guard fired three at the creatures from the tower, eyes wide. '' The wall's cracking!, look '' she yelled.
Sure enough, long fissures spread across the wall.
Guard one cursed under his breath and ran to his table '' Hello, helloo? East tower here! Anyone there?
The speaker screeched before a faint voice broke through. ''This is the north tower! Reinforcements are coming! Heroes from department three and Five are en route, hold your position!''
'' Finally'' he sighed. '' Guys, the north wall and heroes are heading our way.''
Guard two laughed bitterly, sniping at the hordes in the woods. Well, they better hurry, otherwise they'll be saving corpses.
That night was alive with gunfire. Guard one watched over the wall, barking orders at the fellow guards. Guard two lay prone in the tower, sniper scope picking off creatures that crept too close to the Wall. The heroes better get here fast, otherwise, this wall will come crashing down.'' he muttered as he fired another round. Watching through the sniper scope, he froze- a sudden fear had crept over him. What was he watching?
The guards of the east wall watched in disbelief as the horde- hundreds of them had stopped moving. Every last one of them. A system appeared before the guard one.
[WARNING: high-level horde detected.]
Guard1: high level horde...shit
He pulled out his comms to alert the other guards. [ Attention all guards, a high-level horde detected, I repeat high-level horde.]
Female guard 3: Did you say high level?
Guard1: That's what my system is telling me.
Guard 2: If this is a high horde, we can't let the other guards be outside for too long; we must find a way to evacuate the wall.
Guard1: We can't do that, if we don't defend, they might breach it. Reinforcements are on their way.
Guard2: By the time they get here, we might be dead! We did our best, Tony, we have to think of ourselves right now.
Female guard 3: I have to agree.
Guard one stood silent; he knew guard 2 was speaking the truth. But what can he do, if the wall is broken, people could die, and how were they going to evacuate the others before the wall falls?
Guard1: ok, then here's what we-guys....hello-''
Guard ones voice cracked through the radio, finally, as he expected, the line went dead. His system appeared [WARNING: High-level horde approaching]
Guard 1: System what's the current quest.
[QUEST: Upcoming horde is above your level. Activating alternative quest: Escape the horde. Reward: 10 points plus dungeon key]
The forest erupted with a deep, rolling boom. Something massive was moving in the dark, approaching fast. Guard 2 steadied his sniper rifle, with the scope he zoomed in. His breath caught in his throat. From the forest, the high level horde emerged
20 feet tall, humanoid, muscular figure, its skin the color of ash. It had no head, just a smooth surface where one should be. The creature tilted forward as if staring right at them. Out of the blue it dropped to a runners stance, then sprinted, aiming for the wall. The horde paved a way for it.
''Don't let it get close FIRE!!!''
Turrets came alive once more, unleashing streams of lead and plasma. But the thing didn't fall, in fact, it ran straight through it, bullets punching into its body, but I wasn't fazed by it. Once close to the wall, the calamity leapt.
''No.''
With a single kick to the wall, it shuddered, the concrete fractured, and fell. There it was, an opening in the iron wall. The guards of the wall watched, utter horror caved on their faces as the horde charged through the opening, pouring onto the field like a horde of zombies.
The headless calamity stood still, as if waiting, watching. Finally, it disappeared into the forest, never to be seen. The guards could do nothing but pray, pray that some miracle would fall as the horde of calamities rushed like a stampede to the second wall.
''Hey,'' one guard screamed.'' Something's falling! From the sky!''
All heads turned upward. A faint gold light was seen that night, falling like a meteor. A second later-Boom! The mystery figure had fallen. The ground cracked under the impact, a wave of dust and wind rippling across the field. A figure stood on the field.
The horde stampeding in his direction.
Quickly, He touched the ground. His voice was Strong and fierce.'' MIDAS TOUCH!'' The ground around him lit up, glowing gold, spreading outward on the field in fast, branching lines, swallowing everything in its path.
The calamity horde screamed, their bodies freezing mid-motion as their limbs, face, and bodies turned to glowing gold.
It all happened so fast. Who was this person? The field was silent. Everything, all the horde turned to gold, it was like a sea of gold, no, a field of gold.
The Iron Wall guards watched eyes open, unable to speak. Then one whispered, almost in disbelief ''....Is that -Goldberg?''
