Chapter 8 - Chapter 7 - The Blacksmith

As the night passed the streets of Ingerton would return in full blossom, streets packed with life, children roaming the streets as the markets reopenned

Nathaniel being one of the most important figures in the battle managed to be instantly promoted to E-Rank with a hefty pay.

'Only one rank.. I suppose they can't promite me to quickly, understandable yet.. Unideal at the same time.'

He sighed as he fed some meat to Fenris patting the wolf as it happily barked

He smiled softly enjoying the comfort the wolfe gave him, with a sigh he slowly stood up watching the streets below..

' ' I suppose I should explore the Town.. ' '

With a satisfied smile he left wearing his room with his usual attire walking down the streets freely, No one could recognize him thanks to his mask

'Lets see what do I need... Food is covered by the Guild.. Perhaps armour or a better weapon? I've been paid quite a hefty sum so I shouldn't worry too much about expenses..'

Nathaniel thought to himself before looking around..

'...I have no idea where a smithy is'

The Minutes passed, the poor adventurer found himself wandering about going all across the town searching for a blacksmith to create a new Longsword for him

' ' Is this.. really reliable? ' '

Nathaniel muttered to himself as he looked at the only he found, it was almost decrepit and rotring yet the sounds of hammering metals could not be ignored, it was decided.

'The smell, the sounds, it truly is the best.'

Nathaniel sighed as he slowly manifested his burning mask covering his face, he soon entered the smithy

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The sound of steel and iron hitting eachother would echo across the building, the sizziling flames of the furnace and the smell of sweat permeated the air

Nathaniel found himself content, this were the signs of a reliable craftsman.

' ' Oh. Is this another rookie? ' '

The old man scoffed as he spotted Nathaniel with the corner of his eye, with a swift shake of his head he continued hammering a new sword

' ' It is a pleasure to meet you, I'd like to comission a sword. ' '

Nathaniel spoke sparing no mind from the blatant disrespect he was recieving,

He had gotten used to this kind of treatment when he was new to being a Hunter in his previous life.

To be belitliled for merely being new at hunting monsters, to be rejected for merely aspiring to be great for chading your dreams.

If you were not already well known or well established you would be faced with nothing butt ridicule..

Yet he remained unyielding and became the greatest.

' ' Go check the swords on that wall ' '

The Blacksmith scoffed as he pointed to a nearby wall filled with weapons of various variety

He slowly picked up a Longsword, yet something felt off, he placed it back testing every sword on the wall yet..

' ' Oi.. Old man.. Are you trying to scam me."

It was a quetsion yet with Nathaniel's tone it was more so a statement. He slowly stepped to the blacksmith stopping a meter away before cotinuing

' ' The sword's point of balance are off, or either just so fragile after a single slash it would crack. ' '

He stated, after hearing Nathaniel rant the Blacksmith had a hearty laugh

' ' Hahaha! ' '

He laughed on and on before speaking

' ' To think a rookie managed to figure that out? Fine.. Since you actually understand the arts... I'll make you a sword. The best sword you'll ever have. ' '

The blacksmith smiled as he slowly stood up towering over Nathaniel who was only 14 yearsold.

' ' Would you be able to make a Longsword? Even if it has no magical attributes it will be fine. ' '

Nathaniel said in a deadpan tone not being intimidated at all by the towering Goliath the blacksmith was

With a hearty laugh he'd reply

' ' I like you boy! Fine by me! Come by in a few days and I'll give you something you can flaunt 'til you want a real sword! ' '

'Somerhing to use until I want a real sword..?'

Nathaniel was intrigued by this new set of information, A real sword? what could the Blacksmith be saying...

' ' Pardon me, what do you mean by a real sword? ' '

He asked, his crimson eyes shining through his mask just slightly. He bit the bait, perhaps it was for the better or for worse that he was intrigued.

The blacksmith looked down at Nathaniel with a smile before answering with a Laugh

' ' A true sword boy! A sword made only for one man. yet a sword who'll everyone will chase. A sword who the greats will wield. ' '

He paused for a bit before staring directly at Nathaniel's crimson glowing eyes before putting his hand on his shoulder

' ' And I can say it. You'll be someone great. And I wish to make that sword for you. Of course that won't be free but you'll be able to get it once you grow ' '

He said before going back to his anvil

' ' Go boy, come back in 3 days. ' '

He said before heading off to get a billet for the sword, waving Nathaniel off

In response, Nathaniel waved him goodbye as well before departing, his mask dissapearing into the air the moment he left the shop

' ' Some fresh air.. I should go back and rest.. Plus I'll need to do some quests to get promoted quickly. ' '
