Chapter 9 - Chapter 121

Time flew by in the blink of an eye.

Soon, October 30th arrived—the day of the Autumn Tenno Sho.

At Central Tracen Academy, Oguri Cap had already woken up early.

After a simple wash-up, she carefully looked over the calendar.

The gifts and blessings that Jou had brought a few days ago, from all their friends back in Kasamatsu, had been carefully placed by her bedside.

"Mm, my condition is perfect!"

Oguri clenched her fists, gazing at those gifts that symbolized her bonds with her hometown. Determination shone in her eyes.

"Fujimasa March will also be coming to Central. I can't lose face."

Thinking of the encouragement she had received from Fujimasa March a few days prior filled Oguri's heart with motivation.

"Oguri, are you ready? Time to head out."

From outside came the urging voice of Berno Light.

"Coming!"

Oguri quickly responded, hurried to the door, and pulled it open.

As Oguri and Berno Light left together—

In another dormitory building, a small gray-haired, blue-eyed horse girl stood at her window, looking down.

Having noticed the scene below, she softly murmured to herself:

"Ah… it's about that time."

—Tamamo Cross.

At Tokyo Racecourse, the stands were already packed to the brim.

Countless spectators filled every seat, and the air buzzed with excitement.

Everyone had come for this peak showdown.

Kuroha and the others had already arrived at the very top of the racecourse.

This time, accompanying him were not only his team, but also Obey Your Master.

Only Tokai Teio and Mejiro McQueen had stayed behind due to classes.

"So many people…"

Standing at the very top of the grandstand, Inari One couldn't help but sigh.

"This is only natural."

A familiar voice came from nearby.

Turning toward it, they saw Symboli Rudolf approaching with a gentle smile.

Walking lightly at her side was Maruzensky.

Behind them was a representative Kuroha had never met before but knew by reputation—Kanemori.

"This race is the clash of the strongest of the generation," Rudolf explained warmly.

"It's only natural that there'd be so many people."

"President."

Seeing them, Kuroha stood and nodded politely.

After all, being able to sit in this super VIP viewing box was entirely thanks to the "President's Privilege."

"Good afternoon, President!"

"Good afternoon, Rudolf President."

Sakura Chiyono O and Mejiro Ardan, being Central horse girls themselves, both greeted respectfully.

"Good afternoon."

Rudolf smiled back, then glanced at the five horse girls following Kuroha, teasing:

"You really brought the whole squad again."

Kuroha chuckled helplessly: "Well, I can't exactly sit here alone while leaving my girls down below, can I?"

"It's livelier this way."

Maruzensky giggled at that, and the group soon found their seats as the broadcast began.

"At last, the day has arrived!"

"Today at Tokyo Racecourse, the main event—Race 10, the G1 Autumn Tenno Sho!"

The announcer's voice boomed through the venue.

"Thirteen competitors will clash over 2000 meters on turf!"

"The weather is clear, the skies bright. The track conditions are excellent."

"To witness firsthand what may become a historic battle, countless fans have poured into the racecourse."

"Good afternoon, everyone. This is Akagi bringing you the live commentary, joined by analyst Enmyo."

A steady male voice followed on broadcast: "Pleased to be here."

The moment the voices echoed across the venue, the crowd roared, cheers and shouts surging like a tidal wave.

Then, in a passionate tone, the announcer declared the first horse girl's entry:

"Now, let us welcome the first competitor—Kasamatsu's pride, who burst onto the Central stage like a comet!"

"Gate 1, Number 1—Oguri Cap!!!"

"OOOOHHHHHHHHHHH————!!!"

The moment his words fell, the audience erupted like a volcano. Applause, cheers, and shouts of encouragement thundered through the arena.

"Bang!"

Wearing her winning outfit, Oguri Cap stepped out onto the track.

"There she is!" Fujimasa March's eyes lit up from the stands.

"She's wearing the winning outfit now?"

Kuroha also nodded.

At last, Oguri now resembled the image he remembered—

A white sailor-style winning outfit with a black skirt, black tights, black boots, her flawless features set in a cool, serious expression.

She was the very picture of an ice beauty.

The broadcast commentary carried on:

"Since entering Central, she has never tasted defeat, boasting six straight graded race victories!"

"If she wins today, it will be her seventh consecutive victory—a historic record!"

Meanwhile, at Central Tracen Academy—

Super Creek, Yae no Muteki, and Daitaku Helios were sitting in front of a television, watching the live broadcast.

Super Creek poured tea with a gentle smile.

"By the way, where are Chiyono and Ardan today?" Daitaku Helios asked curiously, eyes on the TV.

Normally, as close friends, they would gather together. But today, they were absent.

Super Creek thought for a moment, then said uncertainly:

"Chiyono and Ardan… I think they went to the racecourse. I heard they went with their new trainer."

"New trainer?"

Helios tilted her head: "They transferred? Since when?"

"Just three or four days ago."

"Ahh, I see."

As the television announced Oguri Cap's appearance, Helios' face lit up again with excitement.

"It's finally starting!"

As the most anticipated race of the autumn season so far, even they took it seriously.

But Yae no Muteki sat silent, immersed in her own thoughts.

In her heart, only one name echoed—

Oguri Cap.

She had once personally felt Oguri's overwhelming strength.

Now, her emotions were especially deep.

"Oguri… she's the first among us to stand on the stage with the strongest…"

"Why is there such a vast gap between us…"

Her expression darkened, her fist clenching so tightly her nails dug into her palm.

On the screen, Oguri stood on the track, calm and resolute.

So different from the naive, innocent girl who had once transferred in from Kasamatsu.

The steadiness and confidence now on her face seemed like an unbridgeable gulf.

"Gap…"

Muteki bit her lip, eyes fixed unwaveringly on Oguri's figure.

Back at the racecourse—

"Next to appear, the white lightning—Tamamo Cross!!!"

The stadium shook again, cheers as fierce as Oguri's.

On screen, a petite gray-haired girl entered the track with a confident smile.

Her bright blue eyes glinted sharply, her light steps brimming with energy.

"Two consecutive G1 victories, seven straight wins in total, undefeated since October last year—Tamamo Cross! Her strength is undeniable!"

Amidst the thunderous roars, Oguri Cap stood beneath the inspection platform.

She drew in a deep breath, turning her gaze to the other gray horse girl.

From Tamamo Cross radiated a pressure so intense it made Oguri's heart tremble.

If she had to describe it—

"It's the same oppressive aura… as Fujimasa March…"

The gray-haired girl's lips curled slightly into a smile.

Oguri's heartbeat quickened, blood rushing in her ears like a storm.

It was an indescribable exhilaration.

The instinctive yearning of a horse girl's body when facing a true strong rival!

The announcer's voice pressed on, announcing more entries one after another:

"Now entering, Gate 7, Number 10—Symboli Sirius!"

"Gate 4, Number 5—Energy Tosho!"

"Gate 3, Number 3—Long Live Liberty!"

"Gate 8, Number 12—Super Creek!"

One by one, the top Central G1 horse girls took the stage. Some bold and valiant, others calm and reserved.

Each carried glorious records and undeniable strength.

But to most of the audience, amid the deafening storm of cheers—

the center of everything was still the looming clash between Oguri Cap and Tamamo Cross.
