Chapter 374 - Chapter 364: Low-Key Flex!

Chapter 364: Low-Key Flex!

With the first Gold Hex Core assigned to Gyarados, Kenji wasted no time and initiated the draw for the second Gold reward.

Ding!!! Hex Core drawing...

Congratulations Host on obtaining the Gold Hex Core: [Low-Key Flex]!!!

[Gold Hex Core: Low-Key Flex]

Effect: Grants the Host one Poké Ball containing a random 2-Star Legendary or Mythical Pokémon. Note: This Poké Ball is locked and will automatically open in two years.

Kenji's heart skipped a beat.

A 2-Star Legendary!!!

This Gold Hex Core was effectively handing him a god-tier asset for free. Sure, it was time-gated, but the value was astronomical.

In an instant, a standard red-and-white Poké Ball materialized in his System inventory. Kenji pulled it out with a thought, holding it in the palm of his hand.

It looked like a normal ball, but through the System's interface, he could see exactly who was resting inside.

[Deoxys] (2-Star)

Gender: None

Level: 70 (Elite)

Type: Psychic

Abilities: Pressure, Moody (Raises one stat by two stages and lowers another by one stage every turn.)

Base Stats Total: 660 (Base Form)

Moves: Teleport, Night Shade, Psychic, Zen Headbutt, Cosmic Power, Psycho Boost, Recover, Trick Room, Role Play...

Potential: S+

Kenji stared at the screen, his mouth slightly agape.

Deoxys!!!

The DNA Pokémon. A Mythical being from deep space. According to lore, it was a space virus that mutated into a Pokémon after being exposed to a laser beam. It traveled the cosmos on the back of meteors.

Kenji vividly remembered the movies from his past life where Deoxys engaged in world-shattering duels with Rayquaza.

In the films, Deoxys was portrayed as a nearly unstoppable force, at one point even pinning down the Lord of the Skies. However, movie power levels were always scaled for drama.

In the hierarchy of this world's reality, Deoxys was a mutated alien lifeform, immensely powerful and capable of shifting between four forms: Attack, Defense, Speed, and Normal. But Rayquaza had ruled the ozone layer for billions of years, a literal God of the Skies who ate meteors for breakfast.

Logically, if meteors were the primary transport for Deoxys, then Rayquaza had likely been snacking on the DNA Pokémon's "buses" for eons. In a true clash of divinity, Rayquaza remained the superior predator.

But compared to almost anything else, Deoxys was a titan.

It had a base stat total of 600, which far surpassed any Secondary Legendary. And this one had a terrifying secondary ability: Moody.

Moody was a high-variance, high-reward ability. In the competitive scene of his old world, it was notoriously unpredictable—sometimes granting you the perfect boost, sometimes crippling you. But on a Pokémon like Deoxys, who could already shift its base stats by changing forms, the synergy was potentially game-breaking.

Two years, Kenji mused, looking at the ball.

The World Coronation Series (The World League) was scheduled for three years from now. If he unlocked a 2-Star Deoxys a year before the global stage, it would become his ultimate weapon to challenge the Master Eight.

With one Prismatic and two Gold Hex Cores successfully integrated, Kenji was more than satisfied.

[Reach the Peak] would guarantee Beedrill reached the Master-rank Level 100 within a year.

[Solo Leveling] would allow Gyarados to catch up to the "monsters" of the team in just thirty days.

And [Low-Key Flex] secured his long-term future on the global stage.

Kenji spent the next few days in the Capital, enjoying a "post-war" vacation.

Li Heng had already departed for Metropolis with Director He to finalize his transfer to Metropolis Academy.

Li Heng's parents returned to East Mountain Province, invigorated by the vacation and ready to expand their BBQ empire.

Kenji and Namgung Xi stayed behind to enjoy the city. They weren't in a rush to start the Road to the Championship.

Among the Top 5 finalists, Elder Venom and Xun Zhurong had predictably declined to challenge the Elite Four. They had no interest in regional political seats; their goals were purely personal.

Hu Ren had departed the Capital shortly after the awards, knowing his team wasn't quite ready for an Elite Four gauntlet. He had chosen to train in private for a year before making his move.

That left only Li Xisheng, the fourth-place finisher.

Determined to avenge his loss from three years ago, Li Xisheng officially challenged the sitting Northeast Elite Four Member, Rainey Chang.

Li Xisheng ran a team of disciplined Fighting-type specialists: ** Gallade**, Medicham, Conkeldurr, Mienshao, Machamp, and Sirfetch'd.

It was a matchup defined by type disadvantage. Rainey Chang was an Ice specialist, but her Ace was Froslass—a Ghost/Ice type that was completely immune to the Fighting moves that defined Li Xisheng's roster.

The Phoenix Nest remained the venue. While the crowd wasn't as massive as the Conference finals, the match was broadcast live to the entire nation.

Kenji, Grandma Liu, and Namgung Xi sat in the VIP stands, watching the two masters trade blows.

Rainey Chang was far from a pushover. She wasn't just an Elite in name; she and her Pokémon possessed decades of high-level combat experience. Despite the type disadvantage of Ice being weak to Fighting, she was holding her ground, matching Li Xisheng blow for blow in a grueling, tactical war of attrition.
