Chapter 170 - Chapter 171: Who’d Play the Fool for Love if It Wasn’t True Devotion?

It was clear Yuffie was fed up with Feiyang's persistence, pulling out the ultimate guy-crushing move.

But Luke wasn't thrilled either: I haven't even tasted the lamb, and I'm already stuck with the stench.

Feiyang, oblivious to Luke's expression, kept talking. "But it's strange—when all my hopes were dashed, I suddenly saw my heart clearly. All I want is for her to be happy. Does it really matter if I'm the one making it happen?

I don't care that she gave me hope once but left no room for me in her future.

My only worry was whether the guy she chose is reliable. But seeing you today, all my doubts vanished."

He paused, then added, "Can I make a small request? I'd love to be the godfather to your kids someday."

Luke was speechless.

What kind of ultimate simp is this?

"Are you that far gone?" Luke asked.

"Huh?" Feiyang looked confused. "You asking if I'm happy?"

I'm asking if you're addicted to being a dog! Luke thought, rolling his eyes internally.

Feiyang answered earnestly, "I'm thrilled! The road to ruin is paved with expectations. Now that I've let go of them, I'm in paradise every moment."

Is that how that saying works? Christopher's rolling in his grave!

What kind of Boiling Goat behavior was this? Wait—his name's Feiyang!

Suddenly, it didn't seem so surprising.

"I'll quietly watch over her from afar, keeping those pesky flies away," Feiyang continued.

But aren't you the biggest fly of all?

It was like hearing 360 Antivirus say, "I'll take out all the rogue software."

"Can I get your contact info?" Feiyang asked.

What kind of plot twist is this?

"Nope, we're not that close!" Luke shot back.

"Having your number is just for emergencies, so I can reach you if something comes up. You don't want me constantly contacting your girlfriend, do you?" Feiyang pressed.

His tone wasn't threatening, but Luke had to admit he had a point.

Reluctantly, Luke handed over his international phone number.

Beep beep beep… After confirming the call went through and wasn't a fake, Feiyang quickly memorized the number.

"I'm giving you my number, but don't call me unless it's urgent!" Luke stressed.

"No worries, I've let it go. I won't bother you often," Feiyang promised.

"Alright, we've met. You can go now. I've got a ton to do," Luke said, not wanting to keep this up, afraid he'd catch whatever mental glitch Feiyang had.

"Wait!" Feiyang pulled out a fancy-looking food box from behind him.

"What's this?"

"It's custom takeout from East Sea Hotel. I know she's been working hard on set, so I just want her to eat well. Could you pass it to her?"

Luke was floored. Still simping after all this?

East Sea Hotel again!

This takeout looked even fancier than the one Luke had ordered for the crew at lunch—probably the deluxe supreme package, 3,888 yuan a pop, an astronomical price for the time.

"Take it back. She won't want it," Luke said, shaking his head.

"Just don't tell her it's from me. I don't care if she knows I did this—I just care that she's taken care of."

"…"

"If you don't take it, I'm not leaving," Feiyang said stubbornly.

Simps sure know how to move themselves, Luke thought, exasperated.

With a sigh, he took the fancy takeout. "Anything else? I'm outta here."

"The portion's big—it's for both of you. There's a leek pastry in there. Make sure you eat plenty to keep your strength up," Feiyang added.

So, earlier, when he'd driven off, he hadn't just been "adjusting his mindset." He'd gone to order this takeout and changed into a sharp jacket before coming back all composed.

Luke's head was about to explode. Yuffie, are you a witch?

How could she make this guy throw away all his dignity? This world was straight-up magical!

Pointing at a wrapped scallion pancake in the box, Luke snapped, "After all this, you hungry for some scallion pancake or what?"

"No, no, I'm not hungry—you're the one working hard! Luke , you go ahead, I'm leaving," Feiyang said gracefully, then turned to his Bentley and drove off.

Through the car's sound system, Luke caught the gritty voice of Jonathan Lee:

"Oh, I've finally lost you, in the crowded throng…"

"I've finally lost you, but for the first time, I feel proud…"

Carrying the food box, Luke watched the luxury car disappear, a mix of emotions swirling in his chest.

What kind of guy is this? With his wealth and status, he's out here playing simp cosplay?

And so deep in character? Absolutely wild!

As Luke walked back with the takeout, a thought hit him:

Wait… this food isn't poisoned, is it?

The Boeing 737 sliced through soft clouds, reaching the stratosphere and settling into smooth flight.

Flight attendants began serving delicious meals and drinks, pampering passengers with attentive care.

In first class, Luke was naturally getting top-tier service.

The moment he'd boarded, he'd caused a stir among the crew.

After signing autographs for every member, he finally settled into his seat.

Now, undisturbed, he gazed out the window at the fluffy white clouds shifting shapes, his thoughts wandering freely.

His destination this time: Seoul, South Korea.

This peculiar country wouldn't rename its capital from Seoul to its Korean name until January 2005.
