Chapter 176 - Chapter 177: A Honey Trap with Ulterior Motives

The convoy quickly arrived at the Shilla Hotel.

Lee Boo-jin led Luke into the hotel, where staff members were already waiting to guide them.

"This hotel's pretty impressive, huh? It's part of the Samsung Group, right?" Luke asked.

"Thanks for the compliment. My father just handed the Shilla Hotel over to me to manage," Lee Boo-jin replied with a smile.

Luke already knew this, of course. In the future, Lee Boo-jin would become well-known as the head of the Shilla Hotel.

The Shilla Hotel was a five-star luxury property under the Samsung Group. It wasn't just a hotel—it housed duty-free shops, high-end boutiques, a spa, and a whole range of amenities. As long as you had the cash, you could find just about anything a guy could want for a good time.

In Korea, this hotel was the gold standard for high-class living, a symbol of the elite.

Countless top Korean celebrities, like Jang Dong-gun, held their weddings here, a badge of their status and prestige. Lesser-known idols, no matter how much money they had, didn't make the cut to host their events here. The place was a magnet for the rich and powerful.

Later, when Lee Boo-jin took charge of the hotel, it signaled her loss in the family's internal power struggles. The reasoning was simple: running the Shilla Hotel wasn't just about managing a property. It meant rubbing shoulders with the elite, building connections, and expanding your network. But at the end of the day, it was still just a hotel. Her role here marked her as a socialite, a figurehead for external affairs, not someone in the running for the family's core power.

With this in mind, Luke saw Lee Boo-jin's intentions crystal clear.

The two arrived at a private dining room with a sign that read "Nayan" in elegant calligraphy. Luke glanced at the sandalwood plaque and chuckled to himself.

Lee Boo-jin smiled and said, "Our hotel's food is decent, but it'd be a bit embarrassing to serve it to you, Mr. Luke. So, we've prepared some Korean cuisine instead. It might not compare to food, but it's worth a try for something new."

"When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Who knows, I might be pleasantly surprised," Luke replied with a nod.

A server slid open the black-and-white sliding door, ushering them inside.

Luke's first impression was: minimalist. The dark red hardwood floor, the black-and-white sliding doors, and a few paintings by Korean masters on the walls gave the room a simple yet traditional vibe. There were no high-backed chairs—just silk cushions placed on the floor. It felt rustic and authentic.

To his surprise, someone was already in the room.

More specifically, it was a stunning woman in her early twenties, with a curvy figure, long legs, and flowing hair. Her face, full of youthful glow, was both charming and playful. She wore a light yellow dress, its hem revealing long, shapely legs in sheer stockings. She exuded a peach-like sweetness, tempting enough to make anyone want a taste.

Luke recognized her instantly: Gianna Jun.

To most people, she was a household name in Korea, famous for starring in My Sassy Girl and My Love from the Star.

As they entered, Gianna Jun stood up to greet them. "Mr. Luke, thank you for coming all this way. Welcome to Korea."

"Korea's rising star, Gianna Jun. Are you familiar with her, Mr. Luke?" Lee Boo-jin asked, her eyes subtly gauging his reaction.

"My Sassy Girl was great. A lot of people I know are big fans of hers," Luke said with a nod.

"And what about you, Mr. Luke? Are you a fan?"

How was he supposed to answer that? A young, gorgeous woman—who wouldn't be a fan?

Luke was pretty sure that if he gave the slightest hint of interest, she'd be in his bed by the end of the night. But Lee Boo-jin's intentions were obvious, and he wasn't about to take the bait in this carefully laid trap.

So, he nodded and said, "I really admire the characters she's played."

"What?" Lee Boo-jin seemed thrown off by his response.

"You know, tough and fierce, just like me," Luke said, throwing a mock punch in the air.

"Ha! Mr. Luke, you're hilarious," Lee Boo-jin burst out laughing.

She knew he was referring to Gianna Jun's role in My Sassy Girl, where she played a feisty, formidable character.

Gianna Jun covered her mouth, giggling and leaning forward slightly. Her hand brushed lightly against Luke's shoulder, her slender fingers grazing his chest before quickly pulling away, as if it were accidental.

Lee Boo-jin noted the move with silent approval. Well played, teasing but not overdoing it.

Choosing tonight's companion had been a headache for Lee Boo-jin. At first, she considered more established actresses to show respect for Luke—names like Kim Hee-sun, Lee Young-ae, or Choi Ji-woo. But after some thought, she realized they were all noticeably older than Luke, which didn't feel quite right.

Younger actresses, on the other hand, might not have the clout to seem respectful enough. But then she figured, in front of someone like Luke, no actress's status really mattered. So, why not go for someone young and fresh?

Based on the intel she'd gathered, Luke seemed to have a thing for tall, leggy women. So, from a pool of tall, English-fluent actresses, she settled on Gianna Jun.

And no, this wasn't coercion. The chance to get close to Luke was something any Korean actress would jump at. Gianna Jun hadn't hesitated for a second when offered the opportunity.

Seeing the way Gianna Jun's eyes practically melted as she looked at Luke, Lee Boo-jin wasn't surprised.

Noticing Luke deftly sidestep her probing question, Lee Boo-jin didn't push. Instead, she smiled and said, "Why don't you sit with Mr. Luke, Gianna? You're around the same age and both in the entertainment world. I bet you'll have plenty to talk about."

"Sounds good. Mr. Luke, please, have a seat," Gianna Jun said warmly, gesturing for him to sit.

Since the room had floor cushions, all three sat on the ground. Luke sat cross-legged, the standard guy posture. Lee Boo-jin tucked her skirt under her hips, kneeling formally. Gianna Jun, however, sat sideways and said, "Sorry, I tweaked my leg yesterday, so I have to sit like this."

Sideways was fine, but why were her legs pointed toward him?

Her stockinged legs were dangerously close to Luke's, her rounded soles just inches away from brushing against him.

It hit him like a ton of bricks: this was a classic honey trap.

It reminded him of a joke he'd heard:

A failed honey trap: This spy thinks she can be my wife!

A successful honey trap: My wife's a spy?

A wildly successful honey trap: Spy or not, she's still my wife!

And a honey trap that gets found out? Time to interrogate this spy—thoroughly!
