Chapter 1 - Ch 1: Perfection.

"Perfection."

Jace muttered as his feet trailed forward but eyes darted back at the figure who just walked past him.

Her jasmine scent wafted his nose and felt him hypnotised, completely ignoring the world— it wasn't important right now.

Her face was breathtakingly beautiful, upturned emerald eyes, a messy bun with strands of golden blond hair felt to sway in the air.

It was summer so she sported a thin white vest and black shorts that clung to every part of her thighs.

He'd seen beautiful girls before but this was different, it was like the universe wanted to tempt him— perfect eye candy for a starved man.

He kept his head forward but his feet never stopped moving— even as they pushed off the sidewalk.

The stretch of the black material, the curve of the hips, the ripple effect made with every step she took forward.

He blocked the world out, the intense heat from the scorching sun, the blaring horn of the bus barreling down the street— even the people screaming for him to move.

The girl finally turned the corner, letting the bulge in his pants shrink a little.

He sighed. 'What a shame.'

He slowly whipped his head forward, the screams of the people in front of him finally caught his ears—

So did the blaring horn of the bus.

~SKREEE—KRRCHH!~

The driver tried to slam on his brakes, but the bus's momentum was too much. It wasn't like he wasn't in the wrong, the light was green for the bus.

The smell of burning rubber rose up and a sizzling black smoke came from the tires of the bus.

Jace's blood ran cold in an instant, his eyes wide and his brain non-functional.

There was no escape, the bus was still coming in too hot, and he knew his feet wouldn't be able to move fast enough before it hit him.

He gritted his teeth, tensed his muscles, shut his eyes and braced for impact.

In the blink of an eye, the bus reached him and rammed into his shoulder.

Grey's body collided head-on with the hull of the truck which ran him down and over.

The rock-like impact of the truck pushes him down to the crushing of every bone in his body from feet up.

The slightly salty metallic taste of blood filled his mouth for a moment, feeling the blood pressure bubbling for a way out of his body.

Sharp white sparks of white flashed at the corners of his eyes— before it all went finally and ultimately—

Dark.

And that was how Jace died, run over by a bus in the middle of the street because of...

A perfect ass.

---

"Hhhhhh—AHHhh!"

Jace's eyes went wide open, he regained consciousness.

Blinking rapidly— he tried to regain control of his sight. But everything remained a little blurry.

He patted himself down from neck to legs trying to make sure everything was still intact.

While moving his hands, he instinctively clutched his chest area.

Feeling a squeezing sensation around his heart, he could hear it hammering against the ribcage like he'd died.

'But I thought I did.'

A thought came to mind as he pushed himself off the platform like floor.

Wiping the beads of cold sweat from his forehead and upper lip he finally took on his surroundings—

He was in some sort of square containment pod, glass all around him except for the floor and roof of the pod.

The floor was intricately designed, the florescent light bathing him from below casting his shadow above and rendering a faint reflection through the glass.

With only a pair of rimless glasses on the ground.

In the corner of his eye, he caught it.

He raised a brow and immediately moved closer to the glass, too faint of a reflection to be sure and yet he was so certain—

That wasn't him.

Stretching his features in the reflection, then checking his hands and legs.

From his slender arms, paler complexion, high cheek bones, tangled raven black hair and crystal white eyes— this definitely wasn't him.

"Fuuuuuck."

He cursed, falling on his ass.

Noticing the change in voice too— he shook his head violently, hoping this was all a dream.

It didn't work.

~PAA. PAA. PAA.~

Jace slapped himself repeatedly, each slap echoing throughout the tiny pod and reddening his cheeks.

He ran his hands through his hair.

"After all the webnovels I read and I still thought it was impossible to reincarnate or transmigrate. Noo! And they didn't even give me someone hot...

I mean who the hell is this guy and what sick twisted shit did he get himself into. And why is everything so blurry."

He complained to himself before stretching a hand to pick up the glasses on the floor, just knowing it was the right fit.

As soon as the glasses rested on the ridge of his nose— his once blurry vision cleared up, making him realize that this was all too real.

"Hello!"

He called out.

"Is anyone out there?!"

No one answered, come to think of it he couldn't see a single thing outside these glass walls.

He pressed his hands against the glass, squirting his eyes against the glass to see.

There was nothing out but thick darkness.

He stumbled back, leaning against the opposite side of the glass— trying to clear his thoughts.

He darted eyes over the box— observing every detail and checking for a way out.

There was none.

[... Error Detected—$&@#]

He saw the blue flickering interface pop up before him and staggered back.

[Awakening Failed yet vitality still detected... Reinitializing Awakening Trail.]

"Wait, what? That's never good."

He stuttered and protested against the screen which had already gone silent and disappeared.

Jace held his breath... Something was going to happen, he didn't know what, where and how but the system made that evidently clear.

The sudden silence choked him, making every drawn breath lag.

~CHRRRSHHH~

Water began filling up the pod.

It flowed from the corners of the top, drenching his feet and slowly making its way up his body.

"Shit"

He muttered as he tried breaking the glass.

Pushing it severely without even making so much as a dent.

[Aether-Tempered glass:- The hardest known glass in the universe, therefore damage of glass would be impossible.]

The interface flickered on and off instantly.

He moved back frantically, brain running at light speed yet no solution came to mind.

"System, how do I get out of here?"

[Unfortunately, this is where our conversation comes to an end. If the system could provide one finally insight it would be: SURVIVE.]
