Chapter 61 - Chapter 61 — I Pulled You Out of the Banlist, Chaos Ruler!

Billmu's expression tightened as he stared at Yu Ye. He wanted to know what Yu Ye's actual archetype was—what his "real deck" looked like. But Yu Ye's first sentence already made him lose composure.

"Everything milled by Reasoning has graveyard effects, so I'll build the chain in proper order myself.

Chain 1: Tearlaments Merrli — when this card is sent to the GY by effect, I can reveal a Fusion Monster, then shuffle required materials from hand/field/GY back into the Deck to Fusion Summon it.

Chain 2: Byssted — Strings of the One Who Pierces Worlds — when sent to the GY by effect, I can add a Trap with 'Visas' or 'Tearlaments' in its name from my Deck to my hand."

Yu Ye paused. Billmu did not respond with any chains, so he continued:

"And Chain 3 — Three Steps of the Wicked. When this card is sent to GY, I can banish it to add one card from the Deck that lists Visas Starfrost, except itself."

Billmu's face darkened.

What was this?

All three milled cards had GY effects?

One Fusion, two searches?

And Yu Ye even built the chain himself, so Photon Lord couldn't negate the Fusion effect?

The chain resolved:

C3 Three Steps of the Wicked → adds the Field Spell Pearl World — The Pristine Realm.

C2 Strings of the One Who Pierces Worlds → searches the Counter Trap One Who Pierces Worlds — Clear Resonance.

C1 Tearlaments Merrli + Tearlaments Sulliek → Fusion Summon Tearlaments Nymph — Narcissus.

A pale-blue ocean briefly replaced the swirling black fog, and then a slender mermaid warrior with a short blade materialized on Yu Ye's field.

Tearlaments Nymph — Narcissus

Aqua / Fusion / DARK / Level 5

ATK 2300 / DEF 1200

Even though her stats were modest, Billmu felt his duelist instincts screaming.

Something about her was dangerous—extremely dangerous. A threat at the level of an entire era.

The mermaid looked at Yu Ye. Her expression was joyful but also slightly reproachful.

She knew Yu Ye was still holding back. His Tearlaments build was already extremely incomplete, yet he still didn't bring certain cards he definitely could use.

This was a Dark Duel.

She didn't want Yu Ye hurt—not even a scratch.

She wanted him to win beautifully, flawlessly.

"It's fine. With Tearlaments, even in a wheelchair, we can still drift through the race. Those splash cards are just icing on the cake—the core is the same."

Yu Ye noticed her look and chuckled.

She nodded gently and looked toward Billmu.

"Narcissus's first effect activates. Once per turn, if this card is Fusion Summoned, I can add or send 1 'Tearlaments' card from Deck to GY."

Billmu didn't hesitate:

"I chain! Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord! When the opponent activates a monster effect, detach a material to negate it!

I detach Imsety to negate Narcissus's effect!"

The chain resolved:

C2 Photon Lord → effect succeeds.

C1 Narcissus first effect → negated.

Yu Ye didn't continue chaining.

Blocking Photon Lord's negate was the first hurdle. As long as he stabilised afterward, with four bodies on board and more coming, this duel was far from over.

But Yu Ye suddenly smirked and reminded him:

"You're relaxing too soon. Photon Lord only negated her first effect—not all of them. She still has her second and third."

Billmu: "???"

A heavy sense of dread crawled up his spine.

"I activate the Field Spell — Pearl World: The Pristine Realm."

Billmu reacted instantly:

"Chain! Guardian of Kanopys! Special Summon a monster from my GY!"

Yu Ye didn't chain further.

Resolution:

C2 Kanopys → Special Summon Imsety.

C1 Pearl World → searches Tearlaments Meliadora.

Yu Ye continued:

"Pearl World's continuous effect: All Fusion monsters and Tearlaments monsters I control gain 500 ATK."

Narcissus rose to 2800 ATK.

Billmu didn't flinch. A Level 5 fusion wasn't the real threat—he needed to watch the end board.

Yu Ye glanced at Meliadora in his hand.

He remembered a broken combo—but he lacked the necessary engines in hand. Too many missing pieces.

A problem with an incomplete deck.

He returned to the duel:

"I activate Narcissus's second effect — target 1 monster I control; Special Summon 1 Tearlaments monster from my hand or GY, then send the targeted monster to the GY."

"I target Narcissus herself, and Special Summon the Meliadora I just searched.

Both Meliadora's on-summon mill and Narcissus's send-to-GY mill form a chain."

"Chain 1: Narcissus mill 5.

Chain 2: Meliadora mill 3."

The eight cards hit the GY.

Yu Ye: "…"

Not a single Tearlaments name.

Only Glow-Up Bulb and Dirge of Sorrow had effects.

Honestly, Billmu milling three for him was better than these eight.

The mermaids looked apologetic.

But Yu Ye couldn't blame them.

Forty-card deck, over ten hand traps, two King of the Swamp, and missing core pieces—it was a miracle any mills worked at all.

"I activate Dirge of Sorrow. Add 1 Tearlaments monster from Deck to hand—I add Tearlaments Rulkallos-Berserker."

Billmu: "???"

He'd already been startled when Yu Ye milled eight and hit almost nothing. But now he understood—the problem wasn't luck.

It was that Yu Ye's deck was missing half its core.

Barely grown. Incomplete.

A terrifying archetype in essence—

But right now, still a sapling.

And his Horus deck was fully assembled.

Billmu's eyes lit up.

He could win as long as he survived this turn!

Yu Ye continued:

"I activate the effect of Tearlaments Rulkallos-Berserker from my hand—Special Summon itself by banishing a Tearlaments or Visas-related card from GY.

I banish the Spell Pearl Resonance Vortex."

"On Special Summon, Rulkallos mills 3."

He looked at the mills, sighed, and continued:

"I activate the GY effect of Glow-Up Bulb. Send the top card from the Deck to GY to Special Summon it."

It milled yet another dead card.

Still completely unfazed, Yu Ye declared:

"I tune Level 1 Glow-Up Bulb with Level 7 Rulkallos-Berserker!

Synchro Summon — Level 8!"

"Light and darkness in perfect opposition!"

"Show the power of chaos—tear through reality!"

"Synchro Summon — Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon!!"

A swirl of light and shadow intertwined.

A giant dragon spread massive dark-blue wings before descending onto Yu Ye's field.

Yu Ye whispered:

"I brought you out of the banlist for this moment… Chaos Ruler."

Chaos Ruler roared skyward.

Even the normally realistic Horus monsters flinched.

Photon Lord and Hope Harbinger, both LIGHT monsters, stared blankly.

They sensed the aura of chaos—something familiar—yet they had never seen this monster before.

Where had Yu Ye gotten such a card?

"I activate Chaos Ruler's effect! When Synchro Summoned: reveal the top 5 cards of my Deck; add 1 LIGHT or DARK monster among them."

He revealed five—then shook his head:

"I won't add any.

But Shaddoll Beast was milled—its effect activates. I draw one."

Still no Tearlaments' names.

Yu Ye calmly pressed onward.

"I Normal Summon Tearlaments Reinoheart.

Reinoheart sends 1 Tearlaments monster from Deck to GY—I send Tearlaments Sulliek."

"Sulliek's effect: Fusion Summon using itself and Narcissus—

I Fusion Summon Tearlaments Kaleido-Heart!"

A vortex of water spiraled upward, and the towering, armored mer-warrior Kaleido-Heart descended onto the field.
