Dahlia's POV
Bill wouldn't vanish into thin air without leaving some kind of trace behind.
If he had chosen to leave on his own, he would have at least dropped me a message or left some indication of where he was going.
My fingers moved swiftly across my phone screen as I typed to Dorian: [Get your people searching for him now. I don't care if you have to turn the city upside down, find him.] The moment I hit send, sleep became impossible. I straightened up in the car seat, my spine rigid with tension, and locked my eyes on Soren. I was about to probe him about Bill's family connections when his phone suddenly buzzed to life.
Soren glanced down at the caller ID, and I caught the subtle tightening around his eyes before he answered with obvious reluctance.
