"Afraid you'll lose?" Isabelle's mouth twisted into a satisfied smirk, her gaze shifting between Lorena and me with obvious contempt. "You honestly believe she has any shot with Soren? Fine. Four million dollars. If she manages to marry into the Zaid family within months, I'll pay out four million."
She shot me a condescending look. "I'm being generous here. Just getting into that family counts as your victory."
The mockery in her voice cut through me like a blade. Whatever trace of remorse I'd been carrying disappeared instantly, replaced by cold determination. I locked eyes with her and spoke with icy precision. "Why stop there? Add another million and a half. Five million total. Let's see if I can become Soren's wife."
