My heart hammered against my ribs as I watched Ivana stand there, tears streaming down her cheeks while she stared at Soren with wounded eyes.
Her lips parted as if to defend herself, but Cobb moved like lightning, positioning his body between us. His cold stare burned into me with such hatred that you'd think I had committed the ultimate betrayal against him.
The onlookers around us began to recover from their initial shock, their faces alive with curiosity and the promise of fresh gossip, though none dared to voice their thoughts aloud.
Flora let out an indignant snort, shooting me a look of pure contempt before turning her attention to Soren. Her smile was sickeningly sweet as she spoke. "Soren, I understand you've never been fond of Ivana, but some pranks cross the line."
"You think I'm making false accusations against Ivana just to shield Dahlia?" Soren's expression remained eerily calm, though there was a dangerous glint in his eyes that made my skin prickle.
