Dahlia's POV
Soren positioned himself directly in front of me, arms spread wide in expectation.
My gaze lingered on his devastatingly handsome features while my thoughts wandered to Madge's elegant poise earlier. The two of them would make an absolutely stunning couple.
"Where's my gift? It's my birthday, so naturally you should have something for me." Soren arched an eyebrow with that entitled tone I'd grown accustomed to.
I blinked in surprise. Since when did we become close enough for birthday gifts?
Sure, I had brought something, but after witnessing the extravagant display on the gift table, my confidence plummeted. Those presents ranged from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands, with some reaching into the millions. My modest offering would look pathetic beside such luxury.
"Nothing prepared?" Soren's expression darkened with disappointment.
"You already own everything worth having. And if you don't, I certainly can't afford it," I said with brutal honesty.
