"You expect me to get on my knees and beg for your forgiveness?" Miranda's voice dripped with contempt as she stared me down.
I met her gaze without flinching. "That's exactly what I expect."
"Your mother suggested it herself. Kneel down, say you're sorry, and maybe I'll think about letting this slide."
Jenica's jaw clenched so hard I could hear her teeth grinding. The fury radiating from her was almost palpable, like she wanted nothing more than to wrap her hands around my throat.
