After ending Yann's call, I pressed my fingertips against my throbbing temples. An uncomfortable sensation twisted in my stomach, making me restless.
What was Soren planning to reveal at his birthday celebration? Would he announce our marriage to everyone?
Cobb and I had only recently ended things. Even though the media coverage of our messy relationship had been contained, I doubted the people who followed our drama would forget so easily.
Besides, there was no logical reason for me to make our marriage public knowledge.
Sure, I wanted to humiliate Cobb, but I had no desire to paint a target on my back for public scrutiny.
If Soren revealed I was his wife in front of everyone, I would become the center of vicious gossip and harsh judgment.
Then again, Soren had no reason to destroy his own birthday celebration just to spite me, did he?
