Chapter 189 - Chapter 188: Painting

"It's very beautiful, as expected of Popukar!" Kanna carefully took the butterfly from her hand, admired it for a while, and then released it. Watching the butterfly flutter around, her mood also brightened.

Fortunately, they still remembered they came to see Rosmontis, so the few of them didn't go crazy playing at the door... Walking into the recuperation room, Rosmontis was sitting on a stool, and Lena was saying something to her. Judging by their expressions, it was clear that Lena was criticizing Rosmontis.

Secretly walking closer, Kanna heard Lena say, "Don't you understand your own situation...? Although your Originium infection level is not as severe as Ifrit's, your infection is in your brain! If you overuse Originium Arts like this, aren't you afraid you won't wake up?!"

After hearing this, Kanna realized that Rosmontis had been seriously injured in Chernobog when she tried to block Patriot's full-force attack to protect her. Coupled with the fact that she was just recovering from a serious illness, it was no wonder that Perfumer, who was usually good-tempered, would criticize someone so severely.

"Kanna!" Rosmontis looked up and saw Kanna and the others not far away, and called out.

Perfumer turned her head and saw Kanna and the others looking worriedly from a distance, and couldn't help but hold her forehead.

"Forget it, you won't listen even if I tell you. But I will apply to Doctor Kal'tsit and Amiya. For the next six months, no, at least a year, you are absolutely not allowed to go out on missions."

After Perfumer finished speaking, she left the ward with Rosmontis's medical report, her face dark. Only then did Kanna and the others dare to cautiously walk over.

"Wow! Sister Lena when she's angry is so scary, it feels exactly like standing in front of Doctor Kal'tsit..." Popukar tightened her grip on Kanna's hand, looking a bit scared in the direction Perfumer had left.

"Yes, yes, yes! It feels the same as when Silence gets angry with me, even my fingers are too scared to move..." Ifrit, recalling something, said with lingering fear.

"Alright, alright! Don't worry, Sister Lena is just too worried about Rosmontis's condition. It's like Ifrit, every time Silence gets angry, isn't it because you did something that would affect your condition? Doctors are all like that, sharp tongues but kind hearts." Kanna patted their shoulders, then picked up Dahlia, who was shrinking behind Ifrit, and comforted her.

After entering the room, the few of them looked at Rosmontis.

"Rosmontis, are you okay!"

Rosmontis shook her head. "It's okay, Kanna. Actually, I feel fine, but Doctor Perfumer kept criticizing me..."

Kanna and her group were stunned for a moment, because Rosmontis was also a "regular customer" of the Recuperation Courtyard, and had a very good relationship with Perfumer. Before, she had always called Perfumer "Sister Lena" along with Kanna.

It seemed that, just as Lena said, Rosmontis's condition had indeed relapsed, no wonder the other party was so angry.

"I don't care what you think, I care what I think. Rosmontis-chan, your current task is to recuperate. We promised to live together until we grow old, and I absolutely won't allow you to go first!" Kanna stood with her hands on her hips, looking very serious at Rosmontis.

Seeing this, Rosmontis could only give a helpless smile.

"Alright! Kanna, since you said so, I'll rest well..."

Kanna nodded with satisfaction. "That's right. Hmm~ Rosmontis can't play either, so why don't we draw? I remember that Sister Lena's cabin has my sketchbooks and pens that I left there. You guys wait here for a bit, I'll go get them!"

Considering Rosmontis couldn't get out of bed, Kanna thought for a moment and then proposed a suggestion, which all her friends agreed to.

Soon, she rushed back with several pens and drawing pads.

Each of them took a blank sheet of paper and began to draw.

Half an hour later, everyone displayed their drawings.

Kanna's drawing even had a large title written on it: "The Milky Slice." It depicted her as an adult, pulling a long sword from her chest, surrounded by lightning.

Popukar's drawing showed a group of people running in the wilderness, chasing the sun and butterflies. After much discussion, this painting was finally named "Spring."

Ifrit's drawing was very simple: Silence on her left, Saria on her right, Ptilopsis standing nearby, and Dahlia perched on her head. She proudly named this drawing "My Family and I."

Rosmontis's drawing was much simpler. The picture was divided into two halves, the bottom half completely black. The white half showed two figures, which, after some identification, turned out to be Kanna and Amiya. After a heated discussion, Kanna acquired the naming rights and ownership of this painting for the price of five cakes. She happily pointed at the painting and said,

"'Forget Me Not' will be the name of this painting! I need to find someone to frame it and hang it in my bedroom. In exchange, I'll give this painting of mine to you, Rosmontis."

Seeing Rosmontis show a hint of fatigue after finishing her drawing, Kanna decisively led the others out of the ward. Before leaving, she told Rosmontis to rest well and promised to "inspect" her frequently.

Rosmontis, with a smile, agreed.

After leaving, holding the painting "Forget Me Not," Kanna scratched her head, wondering who on Rhodes Island knew about framing paintings. As she left, she happened to meet Scout.

Upon learning of Kanna's dilemma, Scout took the painting. "Leave the framing to me! If it weren't for your great help this time, I and my team would probably have been lost in Chernobog."

At that time, after escaping Chernobog, Scout also saw the faces of those pursuing him. He was very familiar with the two leaders. Upon realizing that his group had escaped from their hands, he couldn't help but break out in a cold sweat. No wonder the enemies were so difficult to deal with this time; it turned out that his group was not facing the ordinary Sarkaz mercenaries they initially thought, but elite Sarkaz under Theresis, a hostile force to Rhodes Island, who had participated in countless wars.

And finally, W, who waved at him after noticing his gaze by the city wall, further confirmed his suspicions. To escape unscathed from the combined pursuit of these three, it was something even the veterans of Rhodes Island could boast about for a long time.

"Then I'll leave it to you!" Kanna, trusting Scout's willingness to help, handed him the painting. Scout took the painting and examined it.

This painting couldn't be called exquisite; in fact, it could be said to be quite crude. The entire painting was not only starkly black and white from the middle, but the figures on it were also very blurry. It took him almost a minute to vaguely recognize Kanna and Amiya.

Although he hadn't seen the painting in progress, by recalling Kanna's social circle and observing the somewhat childish style of the drawing, Scout guessed the artist.
