Chapter 1 - Transmigrated to Teyvat?! A Multiverse Treasure-Hunting System?!

"Hehehehe… Wang Xiaomei… eheh~ Little Coconut Goat~"

Inside a small apartment, a young man sat before his computer screen, giggling like a creep.

"One ten-pull! Life and death are fated, riches and glory rest in the heavens! Ganyu, I know you love me! Come on, baby!!"

Jiang Yan shouted as he slammed the Ten Pull button.

As the summoning animation flashed by, a streak of golden light burst out from the blue haze.

"Gold!! GOLD!! I GOT A FIVE-STAR!!!"

Jiang Yan furiously clicked Skip.

Whoosh!

Five shining Ganyus appeared before his eyes.

"GAHH!!"

Startled, Jiang Yan leaned back too hard—the chair leg snapped, his head smacked the bed frame, and his vision went black.

Rustle… rustle…

A gentle breeze swept through the mountains, carrying the scent of fresh soil.

"Ugh…"

Jiang Yan slowly opened his eyes, his face full of confusion.

"Where… am I?"

"This art style… is this… Teyvat?"

He looked around at the familiar yet alien scenery, his expression shifting from bewilderment, to shock, to utter disbelief.

"No way! What the hell! I just got five Ganyus in one pull—what did I do wrong?!"

"How the hell did I end up transmigrating?!"

He collapsed to his knees in agony. At the very least… couldn't he have posted that ten-pull screenshot on Moments before crossing over?!

That's right—because of a ten-pull with five golds, Jiang Yan had somehow transmigrated into the world of Genshin Impact, the continent of Teyvat.

But Jiang Yan didn't feel lucky in the slightest.

Sure, the world of Genshin was full of beautiful waifus—but it was also crawling with danger!

He wasn't Traveler Aether or Lumine, armed with a dull sword and plot armor strong enough to solo the gods.

He was just an ordinary guy. No powers, no plot device.

As despair began to settle in, a sudden headache exploded in his mind.

[World rift detected and closed. System fusion commencing…]

[Multiverse Treasure-Hunting System is now online. Greetings, respected Host.]

A cold, mechanical voice echoed in his head, making him dizzy.

A system?

A system?!

No way! The stuff from web novels is real?!

Transmigrators really do get systems?!

"System?" he called out tentatively, half-afraid it was his imagination.

[I'm here, Host. Also, you may communicate with me mentally—no need to speak aloud.]

The system's tone was flat but natural enough—it reminded him of the AIs from those sci-fi videos he'd seen.

"'Multiverse Treasure-Hunting System,' huh? So how does this treasure-hunting thing work? Do I need to gather, like, emotion points or shock value or something?"

Based on all the system novels he'd read, there was always some weird energy or points required to activate functions.

[…]

[Host, your imagination has exceeded the system's computational parameters.]

The system almost sounded… exasperated.

[This system's operation is simple. No need to collect anything.]

[You only need to open treasure chests in this world—each chest may contain items from across the multiverse.]

[Hint: the higher the chest's grade, the greater the chance of obtaining rare treasures.]

The explanation was simple enough even a gacha addict could understand.

Just then, a faint golden glow caught his eye.

Atop the nearby cliff, a massive dark-gold treasure chest shimmered faintly under the sunlight.

Jiang Yan's eyes widened with joy.

That's—!

A precious chest!!

The heavens hadn't abandoned him after all!

"Kyahaha!! Little treasure chest~ here I come!"

He stretched his stiff limbs and began climbing toward the cliff.

Thanks to the many protruding rocks, the slope wasn't too steep, and he managed to climb slowly but steadily.

"Whew…"

Panting heavily atop the rock, he muttered, "Damn it… if I'd known I'd get isekai'd, I would've worked out more."

Years of being a shut-in had left his stamina at rock bottom.

Still, the sight of that gleaming chest filled him with motivation.

"Treasure chest, oh treasure chest… whether I can survive in Teyvat depends on you!"

He gripped the latch and flipped it open.

[Congratulations, Host, on opening a Precious Chest.]

[Ding! Achievement unlocked: 'Who Got Your First Time?']

[Achievement reward: Chest grade upgraded.]

Streams of light swirled around him as the system continued:

[Precious Chest upgraded to: Luxurious Chest.]

[Drawing reward for Host…]

[Congratulations! You have obtained: Wood Release — from the Naruto World!]

[Optimizing Host's race for proper integration with Teyvat's ecosystem…]

Golden light enveloped his body, triggering a drastic transformation.

His pupils turned pale green, his ears lengthened into sharp points, and his silver-gray hair gleamed faintly under the sun.

[Current Host identity: Orphan of the Wood Elf Clan.]

As the system's voice faded, Jiang Yan slowly opened his eyes.

He raised his hand—then froze.

"…A kid's hand?"

He stared down at his small body, then reached up and felt his pointed ears.

"Wait, what the hell, System?! Why did you change my entire race?!"

[Because the Host's original body was too weak to withstand Wood Release, a new physique had to be constructed. Please do not 'ruin' your new account again.]

Each word struck like a dagger.

Jiang Yan's mouth twitched violently. So even the system thought he was physically useless, huh?

Whatever.

At least now he had Wood Release!

That was the First Hokage's power!

Just imagining himself summoning the True Several Thousand Hands statue made him tremble with excitement.

He slammed his hands together.

"Wood Release! True Several Thousand Hands!!"

He shouted at the top of his lungs.

A breeze passed.

Nothing happened.

"Huh?"

Jiang Yan blinked in confusion.

[Host, the system does not understand what you are attempting to do…]

If a mechanical voice could sigh, this one just did.

Just what kind of protagonist had it been assigned…?
