Cipher struggled to raise his head, to look up at the source of that voice, but the immense pressure bearing down on him wouldn't allow it. His muscles strained against an invisible weight that threatened to crush him into the earth.
Suddenly, he felt an aura wrap around his body. The oppressive force pushing down on him released, and he could move freely again.
"He looks really mad," Maya said.
Cipher smiled weakly. You don't say.
Then he noticed something. Maya wasn't even feeling the pressure. He understood why he was fine now - it was because of Lyra's help. But Maya was just... tanking it?
"Is something wrong?" she asked, noticing his look.
"Uh, nothing," he said. It was probably because she was a Saintess now.
"Anyway, what do we do? He doesn't seem like the talking kind," she said.
