Chapter 58 - Chapter 57: Thor with a Broken Arm and a Weak Kai?

Svartalfheim — the birthplace of the Dark Elves.

It was an utterly desolate and ruined planet.

Everywhere you looked, there were only jagged rocks and lifeless gray mountains.

No people, no water, no life.

Even the sun in the sky seemed veiled in shadow, leaving the planet forever dim.

Loki turned his head toward Thor, who was cradling Jane Foster with a worried look. Then his eyes landed on Kai — sitting on a rock, eating an orange.

"I like chaotic, messy places," Loki muttered, looking around. "But this… this is just depressing."

He gave a faint smirk. "Also, I'll forgive you for being rude to me back on Earth — since you did save my mother."

Kai shrugged, unbothered. He tore another orange in half and held one piece out to Loki.

"Want one?"

Loki arched an eyebrow. "Aren't you afraid I'll betray you? Maybe join forces with the Dark Elves? You do know I'm the God of Mischief and Lies. Betrayal is—"

"What a hassle," Kai interrupted, pulling the orange back. "If you want to betray me, go ahead. I'm not your brother — and I sure as hell ain't from Asgard."

He yawned. "Anyway, I still have to act weak, right?"

After saying that, Kai found a spot on the ship, lay down, and began "fishing" as usual.

Watching Kai's nonchalant act, Loki chuckled. He took the orange anyway, biting into it.

"I have a feeling this will be a fierce battle," he said with a smirk. "Thor, are you ready?"

Inside the Dark Elf flagship

Standing before Malekith, the Cursed Warrior growled, "We should strike first. Asgard would never expect—"

"No need to attack Asgard," Malekith interrupted coldly, rising to his feet. "The Aether is coming to me on its own."

Back on the desolate planet

Their ship drifted through the dark, barren skies.

Loki sat watching Thor tend carefully to Jane, while Kai lay nearby doing absolutely nothing.

"If that energy in Jane Foster's body were mine," Loki mused, "I could accomplish great things."

Thor shot him a glare. "You'd also be consumed by it."

Loki tilted his head toward Kai. "He seems fine."

Then, with that mischievous grin of his, he added, "So, are you ready to say goodbye to her?"

"Not today, Loki."

"Oh? Today? Tomorrow? You're still hoping for the best." Loki's tone sharpened. "A hundred years means nothing to us, but to a Midgardian like her — it's a lifetime! The only thing you cherish will always be taken by time!"

"That's enough, Loki! What are you trying to say?" Thor barked.

Expressionless, Loki extended his hand. "Give me back my dagger."

"Thor," he continued, "you may not trust me — but at least trust my anger. Especially after you said that if it weren't for Kai — a Midgardian — our mother would be dead."

Thor stared at him for a moment. Then he covered Jane with a blanket, pulled Loki's dagger from his belt, and tossed it to him.

"This is the last time I'll trust you. For Asgard."

Loki caught the dagger, glancing past Thor toward Kai — who was sitting cross-legged, happily munching another orange and watching like it was a movie.

"So," Loki smirked, "you find Asgardian family drama entertaining?"

Kai grinned. "It's alright. Though personally, I prefer the story between Zeus and Achilles."

Loki snorted quietly and sheathed his blade.

Half an hour later, beneath the dim skies, the massive Dark Elf warship loomed ahead.

Malekith and his forces began their descent.

Loki brought the ship to a halt.

He glanced back at Kai. "You'd better look weaker."

"How about this?"

Kai activated Life Return, controlling his blood flow until his face went completely pale.

Then, pretending to be barely conscious, he stood up. Jane, now awake, leaned on him as they stepped off the ship together.

"I have to admit, brother," Loki said with a smirk, "if I were king of Asgard, I'd have this guy perform in the royal theater."

"Shut up, Loki!" Thor snapped, jumping down from the ship and gripping his hammer. "Are you ready?"

"Of course," Loki replied.

Then, without warning, Loki drew his dagger — and stabbed Thor in the abdomen!

Before Thor could react, Loki kicked him to the ground.

Kai immediately lunged forward, but Loki grabbed him by the throat and slammed him down.

"Did you really think I cared about Asgard?" Loki sneered, stepping on Thor's chest as Malekith and his soldiers approached.

"Thor, oh Thor... when will you ever learn?" His grin widened. "All I've ever wanted was to see you and Odin die at my feet!"

Thor roared in pain, trying to summon Mjolnir — but before he could, Loki swung the dagger down and sliced off Thor's arm!

"NOOO!!!"

Jane screamed, crawling toward Thor. Loki yanked her up, dragging her toward Malekith.

"I am Loki, King of Jotunheim," he announced. "And I come bearing gifts!"

He threw Jane at Malekith's feet — and hurled Kai right after her.

Malekith ignored Loki at first, his gaze locked on Kai.

Earlier that day, the human had managed to suppress the Aether itself. But now, the energy inside him was out of control — twice as strong as what resided in Jane.

The surge was growing unstable.

"Look at me," Malekith hissed, grabbing Kai by the neck. "I told you before — this power doesn't belong to you!"

Kai struggled to breathe, his body trembling from the energy coursing within.

Behind him, Loki smirked coldly. "Consider this my offering, Malekith. He's Asgard's enemy. He once guided me through the dungeons, allowing me to destroy their defense grid."

The Cursed Warrior stepped forward. "If you're so eager to serve us, Loki — what do you want in return?"

Malekith loosened his grip on Kai and turned his crimson gaze toward Thor — who lay on the ground, clutching his severed arm.

Loki's smile deepened. "Let's just say… I'm ready to claim what's mine."
