Chapter 137 - 255Chapter 255 Unexpected Job Change Task

Yogg Fakhert's HP wasn't reduced much; after all, half of the throw damage from Ghost Binding was offset by Mana Burst.

But Cheng Tian's threat struck at what Yogg, despite his youthful impulsiveness and a modicum of intelligence, feared most.

He didn't dare to bet whether Cheng Tian would actually gouge out his eyeballs.

As the heir to the Fakhert family, in addition to being powerful enough, etiquette, appearance, and everything else not only needed to be satisfactory but far superior to others.

And an heir blind in one eye would clearly tarnish the glorious image of the Heart Priest lineage.

As for Cheng Tian, upon sensing that Yogg had actually obediently dispelled the Eye of Fakhert, he let out a slight sigh, as if feeling a hint of regret for not being able to gouge out his eyes. This sent a chill down Yogg's spine, who was pinned beneath him, and cold sweat covered his entire back. This sensation didn't completely dissipate even after Cheng Tian's hand left his eyes.

Ghost Binding: Template Skill, Active Skill. Jacob Brown's exclusive skill, combining whip-type weapons and the Ghost Gauntlet, achieving mid-to-long-range control and combos.

You can only cast Ghost Binding when using whip-type or chain-type weapons.

Ghost Binding will continuously bind the target, achieving physical restraint. The minimum duration is the caster's Strength - the target's Strength. During the binding, conventional physical attacks and skills cannot be used; when the target's Strength is greater than the caster's, Ghost Binding will inevitably last for at least 1 second.

You can perform a throw judgment during the binding. The base success rate is 80%, and each 1 point difference in Strength affects the probability by 1%. If the judgment passes, the opponent will take Strength difference * 5 points of physical damage. The thrown target will be released from the binding effect of Ghost Binding early, but upon landing, it will release a shockwave that deals diminishing damage to all enemies within a 5-meter radius; you cannot throw any unit whose Strength attribute exceeds yours by 10 points.

The whip-type or chain-type weapon you hold will grant additional effects during Ghost Binding. For example, Ghost Binding with the Gale Blade will cause wind-type laceration damage to the target during binding, losing 5 HP per second, and is prone to applying the Bleeding DEBUFF.

When you cast Ghost Binding in your Ghost Transformation state, Ghost Binding will change from affecting a single target to affecting a wide area.

Casting Ghost Binding consumes 25 MP. Skill derivatives do not consume additional MP, and Ghost Transformation does not increase consumption. Cooldown is 30 seconds.

Additional Comment: My SM domain god!

From the skill effects alone, Ghost Binding's control over spellcasting units is actually far less severe than its control over physical units. Physical units, when bound, can barely cast any skills, but a spellcaster, if able to concentrate, can still cast spells.

When Yogg was bound, the Eye of Fakhert didn't disappear, so he could have continued to attack Cheng Tian with his wingman, even while simultaneously being pressed down by Cheng Tian's 'I Can't Breathe' knee press.

But knowing this, Cheng Tian decisively threatened Yogg to dispel the spell himself.

When Yogg dispelled the spell, it meant he had currently lost his frontal resistance, and even if his HP wasn't cleared, it was equivalent to being defeated by Cheng Tian, which corresponded to the 'Story BOSS Battle' in the dungeon entry.

And here, Cheng Tian had to choose between killing or releasing.

Both choices had pros and cons.

If he killed directly, there would likely be a one-time drop of relatively good items, which would likely include the Eye of Fakhert that Cheng Tian needed. However, this action would undoubtedly completely sever all possible connections with the Goddess Exploration Team, and would inevitably lead to a certain awkward brother-complex's mad pursuit.

If he let him go, the value of the single chest drop would definitely be relatively lower, but if they met again in the future, they could likely continue the story battle. The problem was whether they would meet, and the opponent's combat power would likely continue to strengthen.

"Hey! Who exactly are you!? Are you my father's illegitimate son!?"

Bound a second time, but still full of momentum, Yogg showed no signs of being a captive, instead continuing to loudly question Cheng Mouren's identity.

Based on the ideology instilled by his father and the Fakhert family's doctrines, Yogg actually valued victory and defeat very highly. Challenging the strong and despising the weak, he was a reclusive and awkward eccentric. However, at this moment, what should have been more important—winning or losing—was directly overshadowed by Cheng Tian's "mysterious identity." He was now incredibly eager to confirm whether Cheng Tian was truly the existence he speculated.

This question startled Cheng Tian, but it only took him a few seconds to sort out Yogg's thought process.

Good heavens, Cain Fakhert just got a huge black pot dumped on him!

Although the other party was indeed endlessly dark and morally flawed, this accusation concerning marriage was a bit unfair, so Cheng Tian decided—

"Yes, I am Cain Fakhert's illegitimate son."

He admitted it.

Yogg, who had just been agitated, instantly calmed down, or rather, froze, like a brazier extinguished by cold water.

The image of his father, though strict, also tall and mighty enough to shield the family from wind and rain, shattered at this moment.

The mental shock Yogg received from this answer had already surpassed the extent of hearing the news of his elder brother's death on the ground in the temple.

Looking at the clearly distraught Yogg, Cheng Tian, beneath the Sun Mask, curved his lips into a pleased arc.

Teasing this kind of awkward, reclusive young man felt really good~~

"...Then, what is your purpose? If you intend to prove that you are the true heir of the Fakhert family by defeating me..."

Yogg, a rare genius mage in the Kingdom of Yisu, who could communicate normally as long as he didn't fall into the irritable mode related to his elder brother, looked at Cheng Tian with extremely complicated eyes.

However, Cheng Tian raised a finger and waved it directly in front of Yogg, then declared in an incredibly arrogant tone.

"Heir? As long as I defeat that old man Cain, then I will be the Heart Priest! And my family will be the main Fakhert family!"

As the saying goes, wearing a physical mask is equivalent to taking off a mental mask. With the Sun Mask covering his face and no need for expression management, Cheng Mouren couldn't stop acting!

Yogg Fakhert trembled all over, his eyes showing an incredulous look.

Cheng Tian's answer, where he tried to kill his father, directly shattered Yogg's worldview.

Yogg, who had lived until now under the continuous pressure and critical education of his strict father, had never once entertained such rebellious thoughts. After his elder brother "escaped" the identity of the priest's heir, he had strived to prove himself by becoming an excellent heir.

He was naturally inferior to his strict father in terms of status, which was, of course, a normal situation.

But Cheng Tian, this "half-brother," wanted to prove himself by directly defeating the old man.

His ambition alone was far superior to himself, who was still striving to become a qualified heir!

A complex mix of confusion, unwillingness, admiration, longing, and other emotions instantly welled up in his heart.

At the same time, Cheng Tian, who was enjoying his performance, also received a series of spatial prompts.
