Then it was likely that Cain was right: Logan truly didn't know anything more.
The only person who probably knew what was in this mysterious space was that Mitchell guy.
"Then tell me everything you know about the placement of the Hunter Guild, Team Magma, and Team Aqua in this place," said Cain, without pressing further on the previous topic.
In the end, sooner or later he would find out. It was better to focus now on more practical information.
"I only know something about our guild's and Team Magma's positions. I'm not the one in contact with Team Aqua, so I don't know much about them," explained Logan.
Cain nodded, signaling him to continue.
Then Logan explained in detail everything he knew about the Hunter Guild's and Team Magma's arrangements around the Tree of Life.
At the same time, Cain also obtained general information about the location of the League members.
"One last question. When Wattson was attacked, he mentioned there was a traitor within the League. Who is it?" Cain watched him with sharp eyes, ready to detect any signs of lying.
He also had his psychic perception active, allowing him to sense potential deceit.
But in reality, he was overestimating Logan. In that state, all Logan wanted was a quick death.
Already about to die, would he still care about the guild's plans or his future? Not at all.
So Logan not only revealed the League's traitor but also several infiltrators from the Hunter Guild within it.
He even mentioned several internal plans of the guild that he knew of.
He seemed determined to take several down with him, even in death.
Upon hearing that information, Cain showed a look of astonishment.
He hadn't expected that the seemingly peaceful Hunter Guild, which appeared neutral toward all factions, had such ambitious plans that even surprised him.
Although it wasn't something he could deal with right now, he kept it in mind.
He had already obtained nearly everything he wanted to know.
Logan had practically revealed all the secrets of his superiors in the guild.
Seeing how cooperative he had been, Cain didn't prolong his suffering. He gave him a swift death and then cast him into the alternate space.
After eliminating Logan, he collected all the Pokémon and valuable items he had on him.
And it had to be said: Logan's storage space was full of good stuff.
This closed-off space had gone unexplored for a long time. Along the way, they had found numerous rarities, many of high value.
Moreover, the vegetation here was abundant, which favored the growth of medicinal herbs. Those that had survived were very ancient and valuable.
As one of the three leaders sent by the Hunter Guild, Logan had access to many resources through his subordinates, including rare ingredients and special berries.
That's why his storage space was a gold mine for Cain, who even found items he could use himself.
Along with the Elite-level Pokémon Logan had, the haul was considerable.
Now, finally with a clear direction, Cain headed straight for the League base.
Currently, with Drake present at the base, as long as they didn't provoke conflict, the other three factions would avoid confronting them directly.
It was just that entering this space was easy, but leaving it was not.
Finding an exit required a lot of time and effort.
After storing his Pokémon, he mounted his Venasaur and rushed toward the League base. Three hours later, he was already nearby.
Perhaps for security reasons, the League's base wasn't located too close to the Tree of Life but at a safe distance.
According to Logan, the area around the tree had already been occupied by the three major factions.
Drake would have no problem alone, but since he was accompanied by League members, he had to ensure their safety.
...
Mounted on his Venasaur, Cain didn't bother to hide his presence, so he was quickly detected by the sentries.
Upon noticing the Pokémon's size and presence, the guards didn't charge recklessly but instead sent one to report and another stayed behind to watch Cain in secret.
Cain noticed all these movements but didn't react; he simply stopped his Venasaur outside the camp.
He didn't advance any further, which made the observing guard secretly sigh in relief.
Soon, the messenger returned accompanied by several people.
When he mentioned that the newcomer was unknown and that his Venasaur seemed to be at the elite level, the news quickly reached Drake.
Drake stepped out of the makeshift camp with firm strides, accompanied by his Haxorus and several other members.
But upon seeing who the newcomer was, he was momentarily surprised, then broke into a huge grin.
"Hahahaha! Cain! I knew nothing had happened to you. With the Tree of Life having appeared for so long and no sign of you, I thought you'd gotten yourself into some serious trouble," Drake's hearty laughter echoed throughout the camp.
Seeing him, Cain also dropped his imposing stance, jumped down from Venasaur's back, and approached with a big smile.
"I ran into some trouble, sorry for making you worry, Master Drake," said Cain.
Drake's voice rang throughout the area, and soon there was movement in the camp.
Two figures came running quickly from within the camp.
Seeing Cain talking with Drake, they sped up even more.
"Cain!"
"Cain!"
Two voices called out from behind Drake.
Hearing them, both Cain and Drake smiled.
"Looks like your good friends have arrived," said Drake.
"They sure have," Cain nodded, looking at the two figures approaching.
They were none other than Steven and Phoebe, whom he hadn't seen in a long time.
Both of them looked tougher than the last time back in Rustboro City, with a much more resolute and steady demeanor.
Steven, in particular, still carried himself with elegance. Even though his suit was a bit dirty, his natural poise remained.
But the one who had changed the most was Phoebe.
Before, although not weak, she lacked a certain fierceness. She seemed like a typical greenhouse flower raised by the League.
Now, after surviving in this space for several days, she had completely transformed.
She looked like an Amazon warrior.
If Juan saw her now, he would probably feel more at ease letting her go off to train on her own.
Though she still carried a youthful aura, at least the transformation process had begun. And isn't that what matters?
"Steven! Phoebe! It's been so long!" Cain grinned widely.
Bam!
Cain and Steven bumped fists naturally.
Phoebe, on the other hand, puffed her cheeks in slight annoyance — though it was a happiness she couldn't hide.
