Level seventy-three. Initial Elite Four level.
A Garchomp like this, if it appeared in the outside world, would undoubtedly be a Pokémon that trainers would fight over like crazy.
Although some of the more demanding trainers prefer to raise their Pokémon from a young age, that's only a small minority. Most don't have that requirement.
In fact, many dream of skipping the whole early training stage and directly obtaining a fully developed Pokémon — and the higher the level, the better.
After all, that saves a tremendous amount of resources in the raising process.
And even more so if it's a Garchomp — a pseudo-legendary from Sinnoh — that has already bypassed the hardest stage of raising, arriving as a final product at Elite Four level.
That's why this place was, without exaggeration, a treasure of limitless wealth.
Too bad Cain couldn't move it right now.
Though even if he could, he probably wouldn't.
Properly managed, this place was basically a military factory.
Dragon-type Pokémon with powerful bodies, high levels, exceptional combat strength — and in large numbers...
Boom!
Boom!
The battle between Tyranitar and Garchomp began.
Both chose the simplest and most brutal method: a test of strength.
Tyranitar's hands gripped Garchomp's scythe-like fins.
All four arms tensed, connected in a straight line.
Due to his height, Tyranitar was pushing downward, while Garchomp pushed upward — the advantage was Tyranitar's.
Both clenched their teeth, eyes red, using all their strength.
Screech—
Their feet scraped against the ground.
Tyranitar advanced step by step, pushing Garchomp backward.
The shark-dragon's face reddened from the effort; he couldn't stop it and was being forced back faster and faster.
Realizing he had lost in the one thing he was most proud of — his strength — left him stunned.
He then decided to change tactics: if he couldn't match raw strength, he would use combat technique.
Garchomp took a step back, freeing himself from Tyranitar's power range.
Fortunately, Tyranitar had anticipated this move and withdrew part of his force just in time, avoiding stumbling or leaving an opening for a counterattack.
Although Garchomp never intended a sneaky strike — he instead waited calmly for Tyranitar to steady himself before resuming the fight.
It was then that he noticed Tyranitar wasn't clumsy when it came to strength techniques either.
A spark of surprise flashed in his eyes as he charged again.
"Tyran!"
Tyranitar roared with excitement, advancing heavily.
Their arms clashed again, but this time both used power techniques.
They looked like simple punches, but there was skill hidden behind them.
The result, however, left Garchomp even more shocked: he was blown away by a single punch from Tyranitar!
He staggered back three or four steps before he could steady himself.
And without giving him time to react, Tyranitar — who had been defending until now — went on the offensive.
His huge fists, like sandbags, didn't use elemental energy — only pure muscle strength combined with technique.
Garchomp's expression tightened as he saw the punch coming. That blow wasn't something easy to take.
Among Cain's Pokémon, who was the most agile? Weavile!
Who knew how to generate maximum power with minimal movement? Blaziken!
And Tyranitar had spent a long time alongside Blaziken, learning techniques for using force. Combined with his own overwhelming strength, he could truly shatter mountains.
In a rush, Garchomp could only cross his arms in front of his chest to block.
Boom!
The clash of muscle produced a pure, sharp sound.
Garchomp's arms tensed, but even so, he was sent flying several meters, dragging along the ground before stopping.
Tyranitar struck again and again, each punch heavier, each swing fiercer.
Finding another opening, he pounced: a left punch, then a right.
But this time, Garchomp was ready and managed to block both.
He barely had time to exhale in relief when he saw Tyranitar pivot on his right leg, body spinning 180 degrees.
His tail, thick as a log, driven by the spin, the force, and the weight...
Wham!
It slammed hard against Garchomp's arms.
Thud!
The dragon-shark, unable to react in time, was smashed to the ground, raising a cloud of dust.
But Tyranitar didn't finish him off. He extended a hand, offering help to get up.
In his view, even if Garchomp couldn't match his strength, the fact that he endured his barrage of attacks without fully collapsing was worthy of respect.
Among Cain's Pokémon, the only one who could do that was Aggron.
The others, like Blaziken, wouldn't face him head-on — they'd rely on agility to dodge.
To clash head-on with a 3.2-meter Tyranitar?
Only a madman would try that.
Garchomp remained on the ground for a few moments, catching his breath.
He knew he had lost — both in strength and in technique. Even though he could still keep fighting, there was no point anymore.
He accepted Tyranitar's hand and stood up.
Respect filled his eyes.
He had been convinced by force.
Even though they hadn't used any special moves, there was a reason why Dragon-type Pokémon in this space avoided them: if they unleashed their full power, the entire place would be destroyed.
After all, Tyranitar's Sandstorm alone could turn a large part of the territory into a desert, making it uninhabitable.
Both Pokémon patted each other on the shoulder, showing mutual respect.
The series of battles ended with Garchomp's surrender.
