Chapter 52 - Hot Fury

Adrian POV

The Viels' fixation on Elena is infuriating; my business meeting could only be postponed, as I couldn't stay still and allow them to continue messing with her mind.

Getting back, Thorne informed me she had left in the early hours, though I didn't let her know I was coming back so soon.

I knew restraining her to the room here was a futile business, even though I needed to find a way to contain this escalating situation.

No time to rest, my psychic visions are indicators that The Viel is not done, though I can't ascertain the dimension of their attack.

I stood over the holographic map of the city in the control room, fingers hovering, tense, as if I could will the intel to move faster, to give me more than fragments of what was happening to Elena. 

My brain didn't even want to acknowledge that I was thinking so much about her; a persistent flare of her presence in my mind remained as a desperate echo, making my chest tighten.
