Chapter 60 - The Strong Are Respected!

After hundreds of lashes in a row—

Tang San's entire body was covered in wounds, his flesh torn and bleeding, as he lay on the ground, barely clinging to life.

And just as Yun Chuan felt that the hidden gaze spying on him in secret was about to erupt, he finally controlled the armored giant to stop, slowly dispersing the long whip in his hand.

He knew very well—if he lashed even once more, the Tang Hao hiding in the shadows would no longer be able to hold himself back.

In truth, though Tang San looked absolutely miserable, the whip strikes were not actually heavy blows. They were only superficial injuries—no bones broken, no internal damage. That was precisely why Tang Hao had managed to endure until now. If Yun Chuan had truly threatened his son's life, that drunken old man would have already charged out by now.

Still, even if the wounds weren't deep—they hurt.

Anyone would be in agony after being whipped alive several hundred times. Tang San was in such pain he could barely even speak, lying there on the ground motionless.

As for Dai Mubai, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing, who had witnessed the whole scene from start to finish—they were utterly terrified. Their faces pale, they stared at the armored giant, afraid that he might suddenly decide to give them a few lashes too.

Fortunately, Yun Chuan seemed to have had enough fun.

The three-meter-tall armored giant slowly disintegrated, its form breaking apart into countless strands of Blue Silver Grass, which then transformed into energy and dissipated into the air.

In their place, a figure dressed in white with black hair reappeared before everyone's eyes. He looked calmly at Dai Mubai and the others and asked, "Do you know why I whipped him?"

"Uh… because Tang San provoked you?" Dai Mubai thought for a moment and asked carefully.

"Not entirely. That's part of it."

Yun Chuan shook his head, then straightened up, his expression serious and voice full of righteous authority.

"As a teacher, I'm not that petty. The reason I punished him so harshly today was to teach him one lesson—never, at any time, recklessly provoke a stronger person."

"Just now, Tang San got angry because that little girl got hurt and insisted on challenging me. Even though he knew he couldn't win, he still came forward. That's not courage—that's stupidity! If it had been someone else, he'd already be dead by now."

He turned his gaze toward Tang San, who still couldn't get up from the ground, and continued, "That's why I wanted him to remember this lesson! This is also the first lesson I'll give all of you as your teacher—the strong are respected. When your own strength is insufficient, never provoke those stronger than you!"

At that very moment, Tang Hao, who was secretly watching his son being whipped into the dirt, was already seething with rage. Hearing Yun Chuan's words, his anger only grew colder.

"'The strong are respected,' is it? So as long as one's strong, they can do whatever they please? Fine then… you dare beat my son like this? Just you wait until tonight!"

Yun Chuan's strikes had been extremely controlled. Though the whips cracked the air, even hundreds of lashes left Tang San with only skin wounds. No broken bones, no lasting harm. The reason he still couldn't stand was simply because of the pain.

Such injuries could heal on their own within a month or so. But since Tang San had come to enroll as a new student, it would be far too disgraceful to let him enter school unable to get out of bed. So Yun Chuan sighed helplessly—he'd have to heal him. After all, the future was long, and there would be plenty of time to beat him again later.

A hazy blue light glowed in Yun Chuan's palm. A stalk of Blue Silver Grass appeared.

With a flick of his hand, a single leaf detached, fluttering gently through the air before landing on Tang San's body.

Instantly, a vibrant emerald glow bloomed.

A refreshing aura—like the breath of the purest nature—filled the surroundings. Everyone instinctively took a deep breath, feeling their lungs clear and their bones lighten as if washed by spring air.

That single leaf contained the purest vitality of plants. Though it might be an exaggeration to say it could revive the dead, so long as one still lived, no matter how serious the injury, recovery was certain.

Soon, the bloodstains and wounds across Tang San's body were completely healed. His clothes, however, were another story—full of tears and bloody marks, leaving him looking like a beggar.

The moment his wounds recovered, Tang San shot to his feet. The look in his eyes toward Yun Chuan still held fear, but the man's words from before echoed in his mind. Deep down, he felt ashamed—he realized he had indeed been impulsive.

"Teacher Tang, I'm sorry. I was too impulsive earlier." Tang San sincerely bowed in apology.

"Mm."

Yun Chuan gave a faint, calm response, putting on the airs of a proper teacher."Tang San, remember this lesson. Otherwise, one day your impulsiveness will lead to a mistake that can't be undone. When that time comes, others won't be as lenient as I was."

After speaking, Yun Chuan turned and walked away.

"Dai boy, you're in charge of getting these four new students settled. Classes start tomorrow. And you—Tang San—clean up all your hidden weapons from the ground. Don't leave them lying around where someone could get hurt."

With that, he disappeared around the corner.

In his wake, Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing's eyes shone as they watched him leave. The fear they'd felt earlier from watching him lash Tang San vanished completely—replaced by quiet admiration.

"This teacher's actually pretty nice… He's a good man," they thought.

"Ugh…"

Just then, Xiao Wu—who had been cradled in Ning Rongrong's arms—let out a soft groan and slowly opened her eyes.

"Xiao Wu, you're awake!" Tang San rushed over in concern.

"Brother? What happened to you?" Xiao Wu blinked in confusion at Tang San's ragged, bloodstained clothes. If not for his decent complexion, she might've thought he was seriously injured.

"I…" Tang San was momentarily speechless, then gave a bitter smile. "I was foolish enough to challenge Teacher Tang, and he taught me a lesson."

"He beat you like this?" Xiao Wu instantly grew furious.

Ning Rongrong gently set her down. Xiao Wu stood firmly on her feet, hands on hips, her tone fiery. "What kind of teacher beats a student like this before school even starts? No way! I'm going to find that teacher and demand justice!"

"Forget it, Xiao Wu—it was my fault," Tang San said quickly, forcing a wry smile. If he could've won, he would've already fought back. But right now, they weren't even close to that teacher's level. If she went to challenge him again, it definitely wouldn't end as lightly.

"Teacher Tang is a Soul Saint," he reminded her. "We're not his match."

"So what, you're just going to let him beat you like that?!" Xiao Wu fumed, fists clenched. "You're my brother! How can I just watch someone hit you for nothing?"

"Let it go, Xiao Wu." Tang San quickly grabbed her arm, afraid she'd really go do something rash. "We're not his opponents yet. Once we become stronger than him, we can settle the score then."

After much persuasion, Xiao Wu finally relented, though still fuming.

"I'll take you to the dorms," Dai Mubai said then.

"Please wait a bit," Tang San replied. "I need to collect the hidden weapons scattered around here. It wouldn't be good if someone got hurt in the academy because of them."

The others naturally had no objections. Waiting a bit longer was no trouble.

Under their watchful eyes, Tang San walked over to the open ground where they had fought. Squatting down, his eyes shone faintly with purple light as he began to retrieve his hidden weapons.

These weapons were not easily made—he couldn't bear to discard them. Some, in particular, had taken him a great deal of effort and time to craft.

Using the keen sight of the Purple Demon Eye and channeling his Mysterious Jade Hand, Tang San's hands moved swiftly. One by one, he dug up the hidden weapons buried in the ground, placing each carefully back into its proper compartment.

During his years in Nuoding City, Tang San had armed himself thoroughly. His battle with Teacher Tang had been the first time he'd unleashed his full hidden weapon skills.

As he picked up his weapons, his mind replayed the fight. That armored giant's defense had been far too terrifying. Thankfully, it was slow and hadn't gone all out—otherwise, he'd have had no chance whatsoever. How could he defeat such tough, thick-skinned opponents in the future?

If he ever faced such an enemy again, what method could he use to win?

Various thoughts flashed through Tang San's mind. He knew his hidden weapon mastery was still far from perfect. Such progress couldn't be achieved overnight. The most powerful weapons recorded in the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record: Hundred Hidden Weapons Manual all required immense internal strength as a foundation.

If he wanted to use his current strength to fight someone like Teacher Tang, there was only one solution—create the most powerful mechanical hidden weapons!

For instance, the three most fearsome hidden weapons of the Tang Sect: Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus, Rainstorm Pear Blossom Needle, and Peacock Plume.

However, these three were extremely difficult to make. Each demanded impossibly rare materials—far beyond his current reach.

Even though Tang San had made them before and possessed experience, to remake even one now would take at least a year—assuming he could even find the materials.

With a weary sigh, Tang San shook his head as he gathered his weapons. Given his current circumstances, crafting any of those was unrealistic.

It seemed he could only focus on cultivation—gradually improving his skill with hidden weapons, and better arming himself step by step. He should also find opportunities to refine new poisons. After all, Mandala Snake Venom alone was far too limited.

Not far away, Dai Mubai and the others watched as Tang San crouched on the ground, collecting items and sighing now and then. They didn't understand what he was thinking—perhaps recalling the frustration of the battle earlier, or the feeling of powerlessness at being crushed so easily.
